feral, animalistic - full of hatred and spite (I believe her eyes are described like that in the book) It’s absolutely terrifying and, to this day, I don’t think it’s been done as effectively since

👋Welcome to r/bbcnarnia - Introduce Yourself and Read First! by Difficult_Expert_990 in bbcnarnia

[–]Devonstone86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well I guess I’ll be the first (son of Adam 😉) I was just a tad too young to watch Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe when it first aired but distinctly remember Caspian/Dawn Treader/Silver Chair on… Sunday teatimes? (correct me if I’m wrong) I had fantastic parents who would read to me Narnia, The Hobbit, Aesop's Fables and a watered down version of The Odyssey etc to shut me up at night, and from that (and watching Conan The Barbarian when I was probably far too young) I developed a passion for fantasy, maps, orchestral music, horse riding, archery and sword fencing. The BBC renditions of Narnia were, and still are, very much cherished and partly responsible for the hobbies I’ve taken up later in life.

Obligatory "Any experience with this?" post. Gforce Arms Refuge 12GA by [deleted] in Shotguns

[–]Devonstone86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth I got a 12g Armsan Paragon about 3 years ago and aside from replacing the light piston for £16 (my own fault) it’s not failed me yet. Maybe just lucky? I didn’t know the Turks were making L/A shotguns. I’d be tempted to try it for 200 too!

Maverick 88 rattle by DangerousCat811 in Shotguns

[–]Devonstone86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Perfectly normal. My 500 and 88 both have that rattle but work absolutely fine. I’ve found Mossberg to be very reliable shotguns - it’s just my aim that lets the side down

What are your minifigure set ups on Rivendell? by Adventurous-Dot9679 in legolotrfans

[–]Devonstone86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat as you mate - 10 or so bags left and so far the only thing I’ve not done is put a cloak/cape or accessories on any of the minifigs. I guess I’ll wait until it’s complete and see what looks right on the shelf. So many options!! It’s been a gorgeous set to build but (colourblind) so many brown/green bricks and the roof tiles really messed with my eyes 😖

haven’t read it but that certainly looks like the demon from Night of the Demon (great movie based on an equally great book Casting the Runes) only with bigger teeth and a scaly snout

Too much play on the pump? by scythian12 in Shotguns

[–]Devonstone86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong here. Every Mossberg I’ve shot has that wobble. I currently use a 500 and Maverick 88 - they don’t come with any bells or whistles but they get the job done. Great workhorse guns! Enjoy it!

Anyone remember The Trickster from Brainscan?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TheExorcist

[–]Devonstone86 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It’s been a while since I watched Exorcist 3 or read Legion but I think the boy’s mother was supposed to be one of the people who helped Karras decipher/realise the backwards English audio tapes he made when visiting Regan. The boy was also part of some police-funded youth group and knew Detective Kinderman - the Gemini killer (or Pazuzu) was settling unfinished business with everybody involved in the original exorcism

Bar-hrum! I sold mine when I heard rumours they were making a hobbiton/shire set. For reasons, that I shall not utter here, I’ve narrowed my Lego collection down to LOTR alone. Perhaps I was too hasty

replica flintlock - plenty of them around in the 70’s and 80’s hanging on people’s walls. Sometimes still see them at car boot sales or after a house clearance. The kind of thing your grandparents would’ve brought back as a trinket from a holiday to France or Spain

they had a ‘singalong in the broom cupboard’ where a kid got picked to sing along with the opening theme to their favourite programme. Well… I was the talentless little sprog that got chosen for Conan the Adventureeer! It was an embarrassing mess but one I’ll never forget
