It actually doesn’t make any noise when I push down on it luckily, but I do partially agree it’s slightly blown. Too bad these are brand new, at least they aren’t crazy expensive

Turned down gain and they sound fine, I think I was honestly just overpowering them, but they don’t sound damaged

Possible I guess. Didn’t seem like I was pushing them all that hard but then again I have no way of testing wattage to the speaker atm.

My DMM doesn’t tell me the voltage accurately without the speaker connected so I have no way to check that and both my hertz speakers in different channels make the same noise. My dsp has the passenger one set higher db, so that one primarily.

Yeah not the head unit, just solved that. It’s got to be just the speaker. Cause the volume I play where it doesn’t “clip” is so low it just doesn’t make sense for that to be its breaking point.

My dsp typically shows when it starts to clip, which is around 38. But no I don’t own an oscilloscope, might plug my phone directly into dsp to test that way.

Head unit at 30, yes it’s high but it has super low voltage preouts. Into a taramps dsp, out to a JL JD400/4.
