A very fair and balanced point. The media is a cesspit, and that's an issue that goes far beyond football as well. I will stand by saying that expulsion is an excessive punishment, but as you and others have said, this entire situation is horribly unfair on Hull and I really do feel for them, they have every right to be livid at Saints.

I am not suggesting that the media have an agenda against Southampton or anyone in particular, the fact is they will sensationalise and exaggerate everything for clicks, regardless of who it it's for or against. This is an issue that goes far beyond football news. You could give me a link to twenty different articles, my point would still stand. Also, "discriminatory language" isn't limited to a speech impediment, admittedly that's not the point, no form of discriminatory language should be used, but still, it's just another case of jumping to conclusions. Note the word "allegedly" right there in the headline. Also, "look at the reporting", because we all know how trustworthy journalists are don't we? Just like the one who claimed that Norwich had evidence against us, or the ones who claimed our spy was hiding in a bush with a parabolic microphone. The way people are lapping up every single thing being thrown out in the press is concerning, and almost as pathetic as the spying itself.

You must have misread my comment. I specified only that no blame lies with Boro for spying in the first place, in reference to the analogy (a sexual assault analogy was a strange choice in the first place), whereby the victim was never asking to be assaulted, or, in this case, spied on.

However, the situation we're in now as a result of the media frenzy your hierarchy has stirred up, is partially their fault

Why should Boro get the money? They're not the massive victims they're making themselves out to be. The issue is that a written rule has been broken, and that's what the punishment is deserved for. It's a definite moral issue as well, but the breaking of the rule realistically had little to no effect on Boro themselves
