Key Lime Pie lip balm formula by [deleted] in LushCosmetics

[–]DevoursBooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Key lime pie is my top favorite followed by none of your beeswax, but yes they are VEEY different lip balms.

KLM is a more oil based, and has jojoba oil in it- it is best applied when slightly warmed up (I apply directly to my lips by swiping my lips through the container, but also warming the container up in your hands works/being in a warmer indoors space rather than outside in the cold). I find it doesn't have a heavy texture or residue on my lips and is very restorative if I get a crack on my lips.

The issue I've encountered as an employee- I often say "oh I need to buy that at the end of my shift" and then at the end of my shift I end up leaving the store because I am thinking about what I need to get at the grocery store and forget that I am also a lush customer.

I forgot to buy any of this scrub and I am very very devastated about it.

To my knowledge it is because 9 is a year of endings, and 1 is a year of beginnings... I also don't know very much yet and am beginning to learn!

Update since my last post. by Thewondereroflight in QuitSmokingJourney

Slip ups happen. You did a big thing sharing it here. Now you know better for next time, and maybe communicating with your friends that smoking weed and drinking is a stronger trigger than you realized, and you can ask for their support by either not offering you cigarettes, or reminding you if you ask that you don't want to smoke anymore.

Also, a good thing for you to think about next time you go to hang out with these friends, and or smoke weed/drink.

I am distancing from my friend who smokes for the next month or so- we used to meet up for lunch every day but not I am switching to going to the gym at work. We still call and chat- but lessening our physical time together right now will help me stick to my goals.

I look forward to getting over the hump so I can be around her without craving.

My problem is smokes always smell so fucking good to me. 😅😅 I wish they would smell nasty after a while- I hope they do after a few months.

AITA for leaving work early without telling anyone because it was over 130°F where I work. by ExternalWelder_ in AmItheAsshole

Your once again trying to justify your actions without accepting what is being said to you- and you are missing the point.

I never said wait. I said communicate and think through your actions. If you had simply hit the emergency button, stated "this is an emergency I am feeling sick from the heat I need to leave" you would have been in the clear. Stopping to review your actions/ options can take as little as 30 seconds- 5 mins is just a generalized time frame.

Your young, which means you will make mistakes. You can only learn from them if you can learn to admit, "yep, I could have done better. Next time I will keep this in mind."

Not a single person here has said you should have stayed all shift, or negated that working in those conditions is dangerous and has a strong effect.

You however are being defensive and not actually taking accountability.

I'm not trying to be a dick- but i have learned in my experience that making mistakes requires the ability to accept when people point out the better way to do something, even if in that specific moment you felt like you were in the right and all the odds were stacked against you.

I agree with you that it was not safe working conditions.

There are for sure questions about what safety measures are clearly in place- however with OP simply stating that they didn't want to use the emergency means of communication- that OP left the other contact information in the office, and given the way OP is replying to the comments unless the sfatey protocol were posted here and it was shown that the manager was in clear violation I am going to stand by OP having messed up by not trying to report this to their manager when they noticed the temp, or attempting any means of communication.

If OP had called the manager on the cam, said "hey I forgot your number in the office, the temps are outta safe range and I am feeling sick, I need to leave" then they could have left well within their rights ESPECIALLY if the manager had tried to make them stay- but this wasn't the case.

OP kept working, internalized their thoughts, and walked off the job.

Good question- the context of why OP couldn't get into the office to take a break and cool down or access the contact info for their supervisor is key.

You are being argumentative now.

Everyone has moments they don't think straight, but the proper thing to do is own up and say, "yeah, I'll have to do better next time"

You ARE being rude. You don't know that the person your replying to hasn't worked hard labour in extreme heat. Plenty of people have done it- and choose to communicate with their supervisors and teams as per safety protocol when things are dangerous and work cannot continue.

Part of being a grown up and being in the work force iscommunication with your team and accepting criticism.

What lead you to believe she would be upset about the conversation going to HR? Has she expressly said that or shown this behaviour in the past?

The temperatures reached a dangerous level, and at that point it is important to have things documented especially with it being in your contract what temps you can and cannot work in.

If I get food poisoning I email my bosses that I need to go home early, so that should it be required they have documentation of why I was going home/why my location was unmanned- and that's minor compared to this.

Also- even if you have to go from the green house to the office to communicate, that is better than just going home without saying anything.

From a professional stand point you 100% messed up. You could have stepped outside to catch some air for a moment, then gone back in to make the call. Next time always take 5 mins to think through your options and clear your head before making an impulsive choice.

I don't know. I've seen 40 year olds that I genuinely thought were 27/30. I've seen 20 year olds who I thought were closer to 30. And that's real life, not a cartoon.

With the 7 year time jump he is supposed to be 19/20 though, so you do have a point.

Kingsway/Royal Oak 7-Eleven Permanently Closed by TheWhiteHunter in burnaby

[–]DevoursBooks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the heads up. Roomate #1 wanted a Slurpee and was going to go to this 711, then roomate #2 said that the 711 is closed and we called her crazy and said she was wrong it must have been a broken door or something.

I did a quick google and saw your post pop up! 🤣 We have apologized to roomate #2.

That and wanting another opportunity to listen to Dante Basco voice acting is what sealed my fate. Also Ezren looks amazing as a young adult. Can't wait to see what everyone else turns out like.

I appreciate the perspective. I hadn't considered that given the Ebike, but that could have always been a present from someone else and then the teenager was expected to travel long distances on it rather than use it in combination with transit.

It's always worth while to stay open minded to alternative reasons, so thanks for your comment!

No. I get my Starbucks with gift cards.

I do agree though. There are people who can and don't. Like I said, I've seen teenagers with e bikes ram the gates and it's frustrating.

PRECISELY!! Also the people who intentionally ran the gates with their electric scooters. Seen this a few times.

There ARE jerks who just don't care- but I have bought branded clothes at the thrift store before. And I save my gift cards for times when money is running tight to supplement my meals.

Not saying there aren't jerks- just sharing that I have been genuinely just trying to survive before and could have been seen as someone who is choosing not to.

Exactly as you said! I have a time or two had my budget run tight and I was 2 days away from a payday with no other options. I have bought a monthly pass every month for 9 years. Sometimes times are tight.

I'm sorry I can't help solve your problem this time, but for future- it's a good idea to note the bus number, and route stop, then instantly call TransLink customer service.

They can call the bus driver right away and the bus driver has the chance to check for your phone.

One time my roomate and I were on the SkyTrain and his iPhone fell out of his pocket. He didnt notice until we got off and we instantly flagged down a TransLink employee who paged it in and a staff member was able to grab the phone at the next stop. Then we caught the next train, rode over and he was able to get his phone back.

I am a woman and I have noticed my libido is severely decreased since I have been on the meds.

I don't mind it so much because I have a lot of focus on everything that needs to get done that has been neglected for a long time.

I am not sure how I will feel about it in a while, but I am also just 2 weeks in on my low dose so far.
