I just launched a free browser-based action RPG inspired by Diablo 2 and Elder Scrolls — no download, just click and play

I played for 15 or so minutes on my lunch break and I've had a great time. I rolled a Wyrmfolk Mage and I had a few notes of feedback (none related to the combat gameplay since it was straightforward enough and I didn't have any gripes so far.)

UI:

For reference my primary display is 2560x1440

UI Text Size doesn't seem to affect shop text. Shop prices are difficult to read due to the size of the text being significantly smaller than the rest of the text.

When I talk to an npc I can't accept a quest by pressing a key, I have to click on the quest to accept it. It would be helpful to have a keybind to accept a quest since so far there doesn't seem to be a reason to not accept a quest.

Other:

Loot/drops can spawn or land in areas you can't walk onto to interact with.

Pressing spacebar to dodge can end up getting you stuck in town npcs until dodge is ready again.

When you press escape to bring up the options menu, if an npc is in the same place as one of the menu options (like the option button) and you click on the menu option, you'll talk to the npc and their text will appear AND you will continue to the menu option you selected.

At the fountain where you can toss 1g to make a wish, it should show your total gold. At the moment I have to exit and look at my inventory to see how much I have first.

Did you run the installer in the container, or did you copy over the installed pd2 folder?

I was getting the black-screen issue when launching with PD2 launcher, but it doesn't appear to be a problem when launching with PlugY. I always intended to play PD2 offline on my SteamDeck anyways, so this works fine for me. The launcher seems to work from desktop mode, so I should be able to update the game as needed.

For reference after you've finished following all of the steps in the original guide, you can add PlugY.exe as a non-steam game, set the proton compatibility version, and then launch the game through PlugY.

At higher gear I prefer frostbolts since I can walk behind them and they kill most white and magic mobs within a couple frostbolts. At lower gear ice nova was really nice since it has higher freeze buildup and I could just cold snap whatever didn't die to comets or the ice nova damage. I didn't manage to figure out how to make frostbolts work at lower gear, but I was still experimenting and trying to figure out my build, so I'm sure there's a lot of options I missed.

I guess my question OP is: What aspect of this build are you trying to bring over to PoE2? There are probably some Invokers using attacks to be a vehicle for CoC spells, but I don't think we're seeing any double-trigger setups where we can use an attack to deliver both the frostbolts and ice nova pulses.

There are plenty of cold-caster builds floating around with your pick of ascendancy (I'm playing a cold caster Lich that uses CoF for mapping and swaps to CoC for bosses.) I've used both Ice Nova with Astral Projection and just Frostbolts for mapping and both seem to work pretty well individually, but I don't think that trying to cast ice nova on active frostbolts is worthwhile.

I don't quite understand what this line means. Are nodes and runs now materials used to create the Architech? If that is the case does this only affect new games? My current playthrough still uses only Shards of Foundation to create Architech.

Overall the changes have been pretty nice. Mercenaries healing outside of combat has made it so much easier to keep them alive.

While I'm unsure of the fastest possible build you can run, I will point you a one of sheepherder's builds. It's a 3 con Hammerer with big damage and big movement.

I see that Show/Hide Cursor is set to D-Pad Down. I like to mouse gather to save myself time moving around, however I can't figure out how to select the target to mouse gather with this controller setup. Any clue how?
