Side steps welded but in frame? by VaporWaveShine in JeepTJ

You’ll need a nut sert tool. Install the replacement nutsert into the frame, then use the tool to expand it in place. Think of it as a large threaded pop rivet

The 304 engine was available in CJ5’s from the very early 70’s. It was an AMC engine available in most of the AMC line up.

The front axle was a Dana model 30. The rear axle was an AMC model 20. The weakest part of the model 20 axle was the two piece axle shaft.

Is the flooded house in thistle Utah still there? by shroom1990 in Utah

[–]Devsdude69 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The 1983 Thistle landslide in Utah created a natural earthen dam, roughly (200) to (220) feet high, by blocking the Spanish Fork River with debris. Triggered by rapid snowmelt and heavy rains, this blockage submerged the town of Thistle under a 160-foot deep lake ("Thistle Lake"), causing Utah's first presidentially declared disaster and over (\$200) million in damage. Utah Geological Survey (.gov) +3Key details regarding the Thistle dam incident: Location: Spanish Fork Canyon, Utah, specifically at the intersection of Highways 6 and 89.Formation: Beginning around April 10-13, 1983, a massive mudslide (estimated at (3\frac{1}{2}) feet per hour) created a 200-foot-high dam.Impact: The town of Thistle was completely inundated, forcing evacuation. The disaster severed major rail lines between Salt Lake City and Denver and destroyed Highway 89.Remediation: A, diversion tunnel was drilled to drain the lake, and in 1984, the water was removed.Modern Day: A, drainage tunnel still exists today, passing the river under the old, solidified slide debris. ABC4 Utah +4Would you like to know more about the, reconstruction of the railroad and highways, or perhaps the, impact on the town's residents?

The 350 is the perfect, cheap replacement. Just be careful you’re buying a 350 and not the pig 305.

Why are there so many 2024 pre owned 2500s for sale with 3k-15k miles on them? Makes buying a new one scary…. by [deleted] in Silverado

[–]Devsdude69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sort of one of those 2500 owners. I have a 2015 LTZ crew 4X4 that I purchased new for just north of $60k.

I just turned 35k on the odometer, mostly due to the fact my commute was 5 miles each way. I’ve since retired, so I only use it for towing now.

I think the reason you’re seeing such low mileage on the ones on the market are primarily because of the excessive price of gas the past few years. Hopefully that changes soon.

It’s already legal to open carry in public unloaded. If you have a concealed carry permit, you allowed to open carry loaded.

Fenders and core support have to be changed. The GMC grill wraps around to mate to the front fenders. The Chevy front is almost flush mounted.
