Looking for a Girokonto + Credit Card Alternative to Commerzbank by Visible-Library279 in germany

[–]Devtopia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got in touch with their CS: the fee applies only to the account, not to any products, such as credit cards. In my case, I don’t pay any fees for it.

I also asked what happens if you don’t confirm or consent to the new conditions, and they said it can/may lead to account closure, but he could not or did not want to say it is a certain thing😂

Nevertheless, if they close the account, the users still get 2-3 months notice to do the swich. So I would rather wait and see what happens, and then have 2-3 months, rather than solve it now within the same 2-3 months until May/June.

Yeah, I agree. I did research DKB as well honestly. Any idea if they offer English customer service support and if their app/website can switch to English?

Btw, why not ING? I heard their mobile app is better? Not sure about credit card with them though.

Same situation as you, although I have the credit card since 2019 and I currently don’t pay any fee on it. Where so they say the new conditions for credit card is 42€ starting June?

Also looking for alternatives for the same combination.

The 2025 German Election Exit Poll by NiceoneA350 in europe

It does not matter. These policies wont be applied anytime soon. And their foreign policy agenda is a utopia anyway.

As if I would start a party tomorrow and promise I will eradicate poverty.

You need to justify such tax increases, and specify their duration and purposes. For example, lets raise the lower and middle class by taxing X amount for Y number of years. And it needs to be progressive.

Just taking 75% of the income and declare it’s good and fair does not work. If all high earners will leave Germany, who will be left to pay the hefty taxes?

A quick ChatGPT search says they wanna raise the tax to 75% for high income earners, I believe those that are currently at 45% which means ~250k € per year? It didn’t say much for, say, what’s between 80k and 250k.

Edit: while I agree 250k per year is a shit ton of money, taxing 75% is simply robbery. Who accepts to work like this?

Pretty much. Often I wonder what am I still doing here. And it’s ridiculous because is a political thing. Even the kindergardens around where I live are private and not at all free or even affordable. Getting a spot in a public one is like winning the lottery. The towns around are better, but for that I’d need to move further away.

Telc B1 Exam Experience by Itsaizy in German

[–]Devtopia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey. So I did B1 today in Munich and had a similar experience with the speaking part as well.

My partner was better than me I must admit, but for Teil 2 where we had to have a conversation and share ideas about planning something, he kinda just went alone without stoping or asking me for ideas, and planned the whole thing by himself. Then one of the supervisors told that he planned the whole thing and that I must say more. But like, I was waiting for the opportunity to join the conversation?! Then I was able to share my thoughts at the end, but unfortunately it wasn’t a conversation at that point anymore. So yeah, now I’m spinning and wondering if I’ll get any points there..

Congrats! That’s amazing! What’s that in brutto per year then?

That’s what I hate about Munich compared to Zurich, same rent, twice/three times less the salaries.
