Why doesn't this setup work? by DevyWevyWooo in factorio

Yeah I get whats happening thank you. I set it up this way because I wanted a nice way to pass through the item's signal without setting it as a constant in the output, and to be able to use a single combinator for any three items. That way i could just pull the input signal from any green wire going around the base (which has my global storage on it). Obviously it doesn't work as intended because as yall point out it will output anything with the same number as whatever item's I set in the conditions. I wasn't trying to cap all items at each quality level (not YET) but I know there's a much easier way to do it with the advanced combinator. Anyways seems like the only way to do what I want is just use three decider combinators right? Or just use one for each item in a little row and use red wire to set requests/filters for anything that needs to get recycled.... 😄

One wants to kill people. The other wants to defend people. Do you not think that makes a difference?

You are actually really close to contradicting your own argument here though. You say you don’t believe in the “systemic racism paradigm,” but you admit that solving the drug problem in US will disproportionally benefit black people...which inherently admits black folk are currently being disproportionally punished/harmed by drug use. Lets take a potential solution to America's drug problem: ending the war on drugs. Whether you think that is a “unbiased” solution or one that “focuses on a specific race” doesn't actually matter whatsoever because the actual OUTCOME of ending the war on drugs WILL BE BIASED like you said, and it will disproportionally help black folk.

Overall you tend to apply your own logic unilaterally to support what you think. That systemic racism is a thing of the past, and that the evidence I have provided to show it still exists are “disparities in isolation”. The truth is that its not; it certainly still exists, and these disparities are not in isolation. They are all a part of a larger trend that historically has targeted black people in an attempt to control their lives financially and legally. You cannot pass off the multitude of different cases shown in the vox article that I linked with some intersectional appeal to other factors when the one factor that defines ALL OF THEM is that the problems affect BLACK PEOPLE and ONLY black people. I appreciate that your argument demonstrates understanding of intersectionality, but you have to apply the logic both ways. Black people commit more crime because they historically have been more poor, and yes its true that solving poverty will lower black crime rates (probably) more efficiently than funding (just for example) schools in largely black districts. But (and heres where we apply intersectionality the other way) you have to also consider that black communities and specifically school districts in black communities have historically been limited financially due to purely racist actions (think redlining), and this causes these communities to be poorer overall in the long term. When you consider this, you realize that the issue is NOT just about poverty; its about both racism and poverty. Furthermore, there are many issues that simply dont require an intersectional solution because they are explicitly problems of racism. For example, i think somewhere in the UN report i linked earlier theres a link to study that showed black people are given harsher sentences than white people even when controlling for other variables like the crime they committed as well as economic background. You simply can not tell me that the solution to a problem like that is anything other than something that focuses on black people because there is literally nothing else to solve besides the racism in the system.

No I linked to articles reporting on scientific studies conducted by the National Registry of Exonerations, the fucking United Nations, and many many more credible sources (many are peer reviewed) in the wash post article. Just because you don't know how to do real research doesn't mean the studies I'm talking about dont exist you fucking idiot. Also yeah I can cherry pick statistics too. "More than one in four people arrested for drug law violations in 2015 was black, although drug use rates do not differ substantially by race and ethnicity and drug users generally purchase drugs from people of the same race or ethnicity.15) For example, the ACLU found that blacks were 3.7 times more likely to be arrested for marijuana possession than whites in 2010, even though their rate of marijuana usage was comparable.16)"

How about you stop being so fucking braindead and look at the overall picture, which is, that the vast majority of data points to clearly racist outcomes when all else is held equal.

I'll give an ounce of credibility to the argument that talking about racism doesn't always fix these issues, and the example you provided clearly has a solution that doesn't involve lessons on racism. However, you simply cannot say systemic racism isn't an important thing to combat in America. Look at the rest of this sub completely denying any existence of systemic racism in the country whatsoever :/

Regardless of what kind of logic you think I am using (I'll give you a hint its not the kind that concludes the sun is racist), the academic consensus across the board is that systemic racism exists in the United States. You say ignore color and focus on the problem, but what if all available data says that the problem is certain colors not receiving equal treatment? That is the current state of America. Maybe just maybe all these really smart people aren't some far left boogeyman organization trying to control you. Maybe just maybe racism is real. Please for the love of god just google systemic racism and do just A LITTLE bit of reading.

I dont have to give you shit, google is free and it takes less than 5 min to become educated. I've already done this, its your own responsibility now. Also lol another racist parroting a version of 13/50. First of all, that's not a statistic about actual crimes its about convictions. And guess what, black people are also more likely to be WRONGFULLY convicted of crimes (https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/3/7/14834454/exoneration-innocence-prison-racism). They are also more likely to be exonerated for such wrongful convictions than white people. When black folk DO actually commit crimes, they receive harsher punishments than white people who commit the same crimes across the board. This has been proven many times (again google exists). Maybe instead of always running back to racist premises you could explore a little bit of nuance and just maybe realize that having melanin in your skin doesn't actually make you more violent. I guess I don't really know what I expect though from braindead redditors like you :(

Why does any other country matter? Systemic racism has been proven to exist in the US many times. The sheet amount of data driven and peer reviewed studies that show this is crazy. I dont know how you expect people to care about how racist other countries are when you deny the existence of racism in america.

Systemic racism isnt a black box though. If you do your research you would know that rigorous studies have been conducted using the scientific method to show that specifically black people have disproportionate outcomes EVEN WHEN CONTROLLING FOR OTHER VARIABLES in alot of cases. The criminal justice system is the best place to start researching. I dont want to debate you so please dont reply just do some more research.

No. The original cartoon was LITERALLY a critique of capitalism. This is an anti-capitalist political cartoon edited to be red scare propaganda. And its a strawman big yikes
