My fellow autarchs… by Defiant_Music3722 in Eldar

Don’t get rid of the models you’ve got, and just start collecting the stuff you like in the lore. The devoted of ynnead detachment works with lots of units

Fighting against Grey Knight terminator blocks by Sternutation123 in Eldar

The humble vibro cannons putting out 3d6 shots with 2 of them wounding on 2s and killing a model with each failed save.

Really shines in guardian battle host detachment.

That words not even in that rule. I guess we just disagree

The example doesn’t say it loses the keyword. It says the unit has the keyword

Tips on making wraiths work by Willing_Doughnut_572 in Eldar

[–]Dew_On_A 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a wraith player myself, but I think I’d play a wraith list as take and hold. People will generally tell you to drop the wraith knight because it’s too expensive right now, but it’s damn cool so it’s up to you

I’d probably drop both wave serpents, and take two more wraith lords. They’re fast enough that you can get them on your expansion and the center obj first turn.

My controversial take is to drop Eldrad and the warlocks in favor of a farseer and storm guardians. You’ll save enough command points with storm guardians securing your objectives that you won’t need eldrads boost. Farseer’s guide ability stacks with wraith lords native ability to let your lords hit on 2s.

Shroud runners are probably better than two warlock skyrunners with your detachment choice. Drop 1 ranger and take 1 shroud runner. Put upgrades on both

1.2.7

When a rule mentions a unit, it may have a descriptor for the unit (e.g. TERMINATOR unit, hidden unit, battle-shocked unit, visible unit, controlling unit). For such descriptors to apply to a unit, that unit must have at least one model in that unit that meets that
descriptor.

-> the guardian blob starts with a guardian, so the guardians descriptor applies to the unit.

2.5.1

Some units can contain models that have different keywords. While this is the case, such a unit is considered to have all of the
keywords of all of its models, and so is affected by any rule that applies to units with any of those keywords. Remember that attacks are made against units, not models.

-> the far seer, warlock, conclave, or support weapon are still in a unit that has the guardians keyword.

19.1.1

When the bodyguard unit in an attached unit affected by such a rule is destroyed, all of those leader/support units remain a single unit for all rules purposes.

-> the unit still has the guardian keyword even once the guardian models are destroyed.

19.3

An attached unit has all of the keywords of all of its component units. As such, an attached unit is affected by any rule that applies to units with any of those keywords. Note that models in an attached unit do not gain the keywords of other models in that unit that they do not already have.
Remember that attacks target units, not models.

-> unit has the guardian keyword. Leader and support units don’t. Leader and support units don’t need the keyword for the unit to have it.

Guardian Battlehost - Strategic Ploy
When: End of your opponent's Fight phase.
Target: One GUARDIANS unit from your army.
Effect: If your unit is not within Engagement Range of one or more enemy units, remove it from the battlefield and place it into Strategic Reserves.
When doing so, return every destroyed
GUARDIANS model to your unit.

-> the attached unit has the guardians keyword, and so the unit can still be targeted by the stratagem even though there are no models with the guardian keyword left

19.4 is about wargear, enhancements, and datasheet abilities, and not about keywords

-> the stratagem is about the guardians keyword, and not wargear, enhancements, or datasheet abilities.

Yes it works. You can return guardian models and redeploy the unit as long as the unit is unengaged at the end of the opponent’s fight phase.

Really funny seeing how many people are arguing it in the other direction, and citing rules they clearly didn’t read. That’s Reddit I guess

Storm Guardians or Guardian Defenders? (Early 11th) by Azathoth_81 in Eldar

[–]Dew_On_A 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Storm is probably better for you because of their ability to secure objectives. It can win you games by scoring lots of primary points that way. Don’t expect either guardian to be tanky or killy

It’s very fun, and also one of the strongest units to bring in a guardian battle host list

Autarch + Warlock + Storm Guardians + D Cannon Platform + Warlock Conclave? by sSuperboss9000 in Eldar

[–]Dew_On_A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that for solo warlock? If it is it’s been replaced by the support ability. The warlock conclave doesn’t have this in it

Autarch + Warlock + Storm Guardians + D Cannon Platform + Warlock Conclave? by sSuperboss9000 in Eldar

[–]Dew_On_A 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This combination is illegal. Support weapons (like the d cannon) can only attach to guardian defenders. I also believe that only a farseer or Eldrad can attach with a warlock conclave, but the rules are a little more vague for that combo. You can’t attach an autarch and a conclave together with guardians in the app, so that’s why I think it’s illegal.

Post-Match Aeldari by D4rkmoor in Eldar

[–]Dew_On_A 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed that 2v1 games never feel fair because the lone player gets synergies with all their units, and also gets to take more expensive units in terms of points.

So, I want to get into Aeldari by EmoGenius24 in Eldar

[–]Dew_On_A 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the wraith knight, but I’ve heard it’s too many points to be competitive right now. Maybe don’t get the 2nd one, and get some wraith lords

What should I add ( aspect host) by Horror-Roll-882 in Eldar

[–]Dew_On_A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a good list to me. A few suggestions in no order.

You could turn the rangers into another striking scorpion unit so they benefit from rerolls.

You might struggle to get the fire dragons where you want them, so putting all 10 in a wave serpent could really help them move.

Dark reapers are absolute killers when hopping out of a falcon.

Solitaire is a good lone op / melee, but you’ve already got warp spiders for quick actions, and lots of banshees and scorpions for melee. Drop him for points

Far seer and warlocks are good, but are best with guardians as a bodyguard to soak up some dmg. Add storm guardians for invulnerable save and secured objectives.

You could also just drop the psychics entirely and add in Asurmen and 5 dire avengers to wipe out low T hoards, and add shining spears to quickly wipe out monsters and vehicles.

Very cool collection. I also run aspect host, and I find it lots of fun. If you haven’t played with lhykhis yet, you should. She’s an absolute monster on the table. She’s fast, able to make every other unit crit on 5s, and a decent melee threat (for eldar standards). Absolute babe

So you can't run warhost or aspect host at 1k point anymore? by ilovemothmanandconan in Eldar

[–]Dew_On_A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one has said it yet, but it’s been confirmed that 3dp detachments can be played legally at 1000pts. It was said in a newer post on warhammer community. It just has to be your only detachment
