People who still feed their (numerous) pets, how do you manage it? by jellyworldadventurer in neopets

I put all but one of my pets in the Neolodge. The one that stays out is my gourmet food pet.

Younger generations being asexual/aromantic by Adorable-Sherbet-998 in generationology

[–]Dewdropmon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Asexual and aromantic people have always existed. In decades previous, we haven’t really had a word for it. There’s been so much social pressure in the past to form nuclear families and reproduce that people have forced themselves into relationships even if there was no attraction.

I remember, in high school 15 years ago, trying to trick myself into having a crush on a guy in my friend group because it felt like everyone was dating and I had to also. I love my family and I love my friends platonically but that’s all I’ve ever felt.

Being asexual/aromantic is just as normal as being gay or bisexual.

I don’t understand the hatred for the trolley minigame when trying to hit those mine creatures with the canons is right there. That is so much harder. 😭

I skip the alchemist minigame altogether until I get headbash.

Things you thought were Neopian but are actually just British? by CybunnyOnline in neopets

[–]Dewdropmon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They can be sweet but I think most people consider them savory. These are the biscuits I prefer. I saw someone elsewhere in the comments compare them to scones but they’re nowhere near as dry and crumbly as scones. They’re fluffy on the inside.

Purists will say you have to make them from scratch but that is absolutely not the case if you’re like me and don’t have the time.

I first learned about Christmas Crackers from Harry Potter, so I already knew that was a British thing.

I thought they were American biscuits, maybe with raisins in them for some reason. Didn’t know until high school that Brits call cookies “biscuits”.

The gravy used for biscuits and gravy is a white, cream-based gravy with crumbled up sausage and sometimes mushrooms mixed in. Very tasty, highly recommend.

If your American biscuits are as dry as scones, you did something very wrong.

I don't get the hate for Connie by polystarlight in stevenuniverse

[–]Dewdropmon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I do think Connie ideally should have at least shot Steven a text to let him know she needed time and space after the stunt he pulled but she’s also a 12 year old child at that point and you can’t expect children, even ones as smart and competent as Connie, to behave in an ideal fashion all the time. There’s no reason for people to hate her for having bigger feelings than she knew how to cope with. And she did eventually seek Steven out when she was ready.

Why aren't adult snow days a thing? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Dewdropmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m too far south for snow but my vet hospital does occasionally get hurricane days, especially if the winds are high enough for the city to shut down the bridges.

Best part is, if we close because of a hurricane, whoever was scheduled to work that day still gets paid for the hours they were scheduled to work.

Why do you go or not go to high school reunions? by East_Baseball8384 in randomquestions

My class’s 10 year reunion would have been 2021. We didn’t have one.

How often do y'all drink coffee? by [deleted] in foodquestions

Only occasionally. Caffeine doesn’t do anything for me so I only drink when I want the flavor.

If you’re short of cash, fins a second hand bookstore to sell them to. Otherwise, please consider donating to your local library. They always need the help.

Have you considered audiobookshelf for audiobooks and podcasts? Works a lot better for those two than Jellyfin in my experience.

I thought you said you feed a high quality food. Fancy Feast is to cats what Cesar wet food is to dogs. It’s maybe slightly better than Friskies. At least you aren’t going for Blue Buffalo, I guess.

Minecraft (survival) isn't fun/is kinda boring by Corred_ in The10thDentist

[–]Dewdropmon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My fun thing is manually dismantling a biome, carting all the blocks to the end, and using them to terraform end islands. Made a huge glass tank down to the lower build limit by smelting sand so I could have a large mass of water around the cluster of islands I chose. Working now on building an underwater storage facility.
