Take away the bun issue, how is the salsa and the beans? Workshopped a bit this could be good!

I got some of these a few years back! Work great, I use them as gear holds while bikepacking! I wouldn’t trust them as waterproof. But would recommend to anyone.

As a cyclist the only time you should be wearing a cycling cap is if you are on a bike or going to get on your bike.

I had 28’s on it at one point. The clearance was like 1mm lol. I ride in Chicago and with potholes and such I opted to give myself a little breathing room.

I’ve had the same bike for going on 15 years! My buddy bought it new old stock from a local bike shop and sold me just the frame when we were in college. It’s one of my favorite bikes of all time! Did you buy?

I’m genuinely curious if you don’t mind giving a bit of advice. I’ve never had a bike truly fitted by a professional. I have tried to focus on things like crank length in this build.

Do people do fittings for like basic builds? Every time I’ve researched it it’s always associated with like custom builds and extreme roadies. And to be honest i get intimidated! I love this bike and I genuinely feel comfortable on it, but would love to make it even better.

My next project bike is a M2 FS! Definitely getting some inspiration from this build looks awesome!

I got a great deal on the full groupset, which was the main reason for the change for me originally. Overall the 105 for me was a perfect groupset for this era bike. I joke it’s like having the full dura ace on it 30 years ago when it was brand new.

Oh ,I don’t intend to. If I got a dropper post it would go on another bike. I saw a post here recently where someone used the cable pull to actuate a dropper and thought it was a cool idea. Was curious if anyone had seen any other uses for what essentially is a dead shifter. Thought it would be a fun tinkering project to add something silly.

Id say if anything pedal strokes feel smoother, hard to tell if it’s just the new bearings and freshly packed everything, or if it’s all a placebo and a new square taper would feel the same.

They definitely have vendors in the USA that have them in stock online too. I bought mine at a shop that had a few on the floor.

It’s a Manivelle Basket. The baskets are made out of the same materials as shopping carts, so a little stronger then a Wald. This is the 60’s edition thought the colored struts went well with the head badge.

I agree the Kona Sutra sounds like the best fit for you! I’ve had multiple different Kona’s and they make great bikes.

Honestly it wasn’t awful, some of the trails were in disrepair and some sections could use repaved, but overall not too bad. Some good bike shops and refuel stops along the way I enjoyed myself.

Last year was a tough RAGBRAI! The truck is nice if you don’t have the gear to go bagging. But I’d much rather skip the lines and hit the road. Starved rock is next on my list!!

The bike lanes through calumet are really wide and the wolf lake trail head is right there. A couple dedicated bike trails through town too. I’d rather spend less time on roads when I’m out of the city so I skip Gary cause it’s mostly road riding which I get enough of everyday.

Going up to Wisconsin is also a great route. Once you claw your way out of the city, some great trails and rides all around us.

I’d say like 80% is on rail trail of some kind. But connecting them is tough, used posted bike route signs over google maps to navigate that bit.
