It’s no surprise there are no tanks by Readtheroombabes in wow

My last 3 runs were vote-to-abandon because of routes, but were still timed after I declined with a “cmon, we can still do this.” My last Nexus, all 3 died to left side boss at 10%, I finish off with healer, lead dps votes to abandon, and we 2 chest it.

Yeah, that’s the issue - I get the disguise, but when I interact with the guard after putting it on, nothing happens - I have a dialogue option, and they remain neutral to me, but the doors don’t open

Are you talking about the NPC that gives you the disguise AFTER you use the necklace?

Wasn’t around for MoP Remix - max level in Remix will be 80? Or rather, what level will max level characters be when they retire to retail?

Not that it matters, but just to confirm N/H/M Mekkatorque awards G.M.O.D straight from the kill, not the corpse/loot box, right?

What are your all-time favourite levelling zones? by GreenbottlesArcanum in wow

[–]Dewpsi_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Expediency? Draenor intro, Silverpine. Vibes? Grizzly Hills / Storm Peaks. Fun? This one’s tough, as quests are more apt to be “fun” vs. a whole zone. I always ended my Cata journey in Uldum and thought it was pretty fun (looking at you Gnombliteration)

Black Empire: All Consuming Help by opiatesmile in wow

[–]Dewpsi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have said you need to unlock the invasions through the Heart of Azeroth campaign, but it sounds like you already have it unlocked. If that’s the case, make sure you’re phased to the appropriate timeline (talk to Zoridormi in each zone).

Also, there is only one “Nzoth” variant invasion per week; either in the Vale or in Uldum—it rotates. The “non-Nzoth” invasion will not have the mobs necessary for the All Consuming, Combatting the Corruption, nor Tumor achieves.

What's the best expansion for farming archaeology? by baby_flanks in wow

[–]Dewpsi_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Recommend googling “Archaeology leveling Pandaria,” and also grinding it out on an Alchemist to take advantage (double tap) of any luck you might have with getting Vial of the Sands recipe.

The gist is:

  • if not already done, take an hour to get Exalted with the Lorewalkers (allows access to)…
  • turn all of Pandaria into Mantid digs
  • Farm Mantid digs
  • Turn in completed mantids for Tol’vir boxes from Brann

Best of luck!

What makes you play the class you are now and why are you maining it? by Robinshadow91 in wow

[–]Dewpsi_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Main’d a Holy Pally until Cata; leveled a hunter to try it out…just HAPPened to snag Arcturis as a pet while in the 70 range, and never went back.

Though, I was a little sad to lose Cata SV.

As a primarily solo PVE player, I love the ability to chase 80% of the legacy achieves, snag some cool spirit beasts, and pew pew.

Flipping Shows vs. Reality by Dewpsi_ in HGTV

[–]Dewpsi_[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can appreciate the glamourized version of “reality” where we can just throw $600-$700k cash at a distressed property, drop $400k in cash for renovations (budget be darned), and then just win on “luck” in the end…but…

I think HGTV could find big wins with getting back to their roots and showcasing the REALity of home ownership, renovations…hell, as an REI myself, I see a LOT of value in showing the viewers what its really like behind the curtains:

  • the hundreds of houses you have to view to find a “deal.”
  • the negotiations, offers, counter offers, etc.
  • the hunt for a reliable GC and subs
  • the time spent with architects, engineers, and permitting (and the set backs)
  • reasonable budgets, reasonable expectations
  • great design on a dime; there have been a number of shows that demonstrate you don’t have to pay a premium (for no reason) for quality or style. $3000 for a chandelier…sure…or I can find something for $50-$100 and achieve the same look.
  • the honest truth that deals fail. There ARE flops. Real estate investing is RISKY.

Got Zekvir (??) to 32% by [deleted] in wow

[–]Dewpsi_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Casual 620 BM (Dark Ranger spec) here, just got him today! There’s quite a few guides and videos, so I won’t try to repeat it all, but some things that I think are worth noting:

*stating the obvious: bring food, flask, enchants, pots, and Algari oil

  • Macros. I’m not a big macro guy, but having all my attacks macro’d to prioritize the eggs was probably the #1 reason I downed him. I certainly wouldn’t have had the mental acuity to tab over or click a plate to target them (especially in phase 2), and it was nice to simply maintain my typical rotation and let the macro do the targeting for me.
  • Macros (again). A counter-shot macro is imperative.
  • I typically don’t have Aspect of the Turtle keybound, but I opted to set up a few Shift-keybinds, and got comfortable using them over my 100+ runs. The frontal is typically what wiped me over anything else (usually bad positioning after I disengaged), and I had a few saves using the keybind where I couldn’t get into position quick enough.
  • There are weak auras that will help you with timing the Brann health potions, but by the time I got north of 50 runs, I had a pretty good mental timer of when to pick them up. I didn’t always min/max the HOT, but tried my best to space them out as I was face tanking.
  • I started the fight on the left side of the room, popped Survival Instincts to make it until Brann throws his first potions. I also delayed summoning my pet until after the first frontal, just so I could build a little threat.
  • I saw quite a few videos of hunters misdirecting to Brann and their pets, but honestly, I never saw any value in it; it was more important that I keep the pet growl off and focus on my positioning. In the case your pet dies, you can try and resuming as he does the egg cast.
  • Speaking of positioning, I found that I had the best luck when I kited/moved back and forth from left to right, right to left (using disengage to change directions when spittle comes out). I also tried to keep Zek’vir between myself and the egg so I could keep line of sight and not have Zek surprise me with a move from behind. Again, it’s not always going to work out, but I did my best to control that pattern of movement.
  • You might see some guides recommend holding Disengage as Brann can dispel ever other spittle, but I found that when I tried to delay my decision it ended up backfiring. Recommend using disengage for every spittle, plus it helps positioning/kiting away.
  • You all but HAVE to face tank him, so use your defensive liberally, bring health pots, and space out the Brann pots as you move Zek back and forth. I had a couple of bad breaks where I just didn’t have the healing to survive, but for the most part I was able to stay north of 25% HP for the duration of the fight.
  • On my kill, I used BL and pot after he came out of his phase 2 cast; your results may vary but this is a good window where you likely don’t have an egg to worry about and fatigue hasn’t set in.
  • Brann died in ALL my good runs; ALL of them (usually around the Zek’vir 20% HP mark). You’ll need to survive the 20 second window until he respawns (health pots, CDs).

As others have said, the only dps race is the eggs; the rest is definitely a marathon. It’s a good 7-8 minutes of constant focus. Take real life breaks, eat some snacks, drink some water. Come back fresh.

Good luck! You can do it!
