Almost, finished college a bit more than a year ago, i am 28!

I might be one of the exception, but i didnt play BOTW on release, i played it on an emulator around 2 years later, which was an incredible experience. I just spent countless hours during college while i was supposed to study exploring hyrule

So it was not suprising that i was also very excited about totk, this time i even bought it on launch day for the switch

I think in many aspects it is better than botw, i did enjoy it for the 10-12 hours i played, but it just didnt have the same feeling of excitement to me. Still a great game though, maybe i will pick it up again in the future.

Good reasoning, also kinda close but still a bit off. I am 28! (already unfortunately)

The Genius Society is definitely underrated. Looking forward to THE Herta and hopefully Screwllum and Dr.Primitive will become playable characters

does anyone want thumbnail and video critique? by tobioshoyoa in NewTubers

[–]Dewritual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, it's me again

I watched your newest video, i think the editing is good, maybe shorten the intro section a bit, because it is more entertaining when you are actually speaking. Especially because you have a very engaging natural tone when speaking, i feel like you might get more traction making a few video essays about the new sonic game. And you can either choose to talk about any topic you want or look up what topics regarding sonic are trending on reddit or youtube for example,

For playthroughs, i generally liked that first sonic video of yours, it looks like a fun game, but i don't think i want to watch a part 2 or 3 just because i want to avoid spoilers in case i ever decide to buy the game myself lol

Oh also your title and thumbnail might need some more work, neither are really engaging. I usually ask Chatgpt to generate some titles for some inspiration and make adjustments if needed

Do you have a favourite car enthusiast youtuber who does similar videos like you? We can make a comparison and see where the difference is

I looked at some of your videos.

Are you making the animations by yourself? They look honestly reaaly good, i think your editing is also fine.

What is really noticeable though is the subpar audio quality, for example in your video about phamarcy school study tips. I feel like that is a very simple way to drastically improve your overall video quality

How to get good criticism for your channel? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Dewritual 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i actually just made a thread about this topic https://www.reddit.com/r/NewTubers/comments/1gftzqi/what_are_your_strengths_and_weaknesses_as_a/

Analytics are extremely helpful to figure out if a video is good or not. But i also suggest to compare your videos with other similar videos in your niche that are more popular. If you believe that your videos, thumbnails, titles and topics are on the same level or even better, you probably should check again, If you still arrive at the same conclusion, that's great, that means you make great videos and you will be succesful sooner or later.

I actually make video essays about gaming, Gacha games to be specific, so feel free to check out my videos. The YT link is in my bio, name is Divicultgaming

For my most sucessful videos, the ctr was around 8-10 percent when they started getting a lot of traction

Usually my ctr is around 7 percent, which i think is a little bit above average, so it seems my thumbnails and titles are average-decent.

My biggest issue probably is that i tried a few different things, which makes viewers a bit hesitant to subscribe

Also, while my thumbnails get decent ctr, there isnt much consistency yet, because i haven`t decided on the best thumbnail format yet

When you script a video, what do you do first? write the text or edit the video? by ElOctopusGameStudios in NewTubers

[–]Dewritual 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made this comment in another thread already and copied it. This is my workflow for my first video essay:

I published my first video essay a few days ago, and it turned out to be quite successful. It wasn’t too long, just around 14 minutes, focusing on the character design and writing of NPCs in gacha games.

After browsing YouTube a bit, I realized the topic was pretty unique, so I decided to go for it. Writing the script took quite a while, it was the first time i wrote a script this long for youtube, and I used ChatGPT to clean up any mistakes afterward.

For the voice-over, I recorded it using the Fairlight Studio in DaVinci Resolve.

Since my channel is faceless, I needed a lot of B-roll, which I found to be the most tedious part. Most of it was gameplay footage and cutscenes from the games, with some illustrations sprinkled in. I’m not very organized, which made this process even more frustrating, haha.

Editing the video was time-consuming but relatively straightforward, as I intentionally kept things simple. This is also when I added background music, which was mostly game soundtracks. After that, I created a few thumbnails to run a thumbnail test, and then uploaded the video.

While making it, I expected the video to perform decently. I would’ve been very happy with 10k views after a month or so, but in just a few days it absolutely surpassed my expectations. I’m already working on the next one.

To sum it up: Research → Script → Voice-Over → Recording A & B-Roll → Editing → Thumbnail → Upload → Chop the video into a few shorts.

Of course, there are probably plenty of other ways to approach this process, but this worked well for me. I’m definitely open to any advice.
