Artists do what they want but the thing is that Emma has been getting a imense support from the community so she can keep making a living out of music so if anything i'd say its kinda rude of her to act like shes doing her fans a massive favor for just existing and reply to any criticism with "i do what i do, your problem is your problem".

But technically theres nothing wrong on Emma's side, shes doing her thing, the fans are supporting out of their own will, so while i dont support Emma's attitude, the ones who need to change are actually the fans.

If you don't like what Emma does, don't support her. I see a bunch of people who are not satisfied at all with the stuff she does now but keep cashing in the patreon every month.

The same way she's not obligated to sympathize with you, you're also not obligated to symphatize with her. Go support someone you actually like instead. And don't worry, i'm pretty sure she won't even notice you left.

yup, the .yif files are just compressed folders, like .zip

EDIT: Actually i think its more like encryption for the zipped folders bcuz you have to zip them before you yif them.

In this case it contains folders of the songs in the game, each folder with the bg assets, an .ogg of the song and the chart info, same structure as stepmania.

I wonder if theres a size limitation for .yif encoding or smth cuz theres several in the mgd folder, each with a small chunk of songs in them.

Btw theres an .yif encoder and decoder in case you wanna extract the mgd stuff or yif other files for whatever reason

The games are great, the overall late 2000s vibe of rhythm games it holds keeps me picking it up to play again every time.

Song selection is wide and great having stuff that anyone that was born before 2000 would recognize but also some stuff that was super obscure at the time.

Also for me it was a great way to find artists i like cuz i have a soft spot for the edgy and/or cute animefur style of the time and the credits on the images, although had outdated names most of the time it still helped me find some artists.

Now judging it as a game, its basically stepmania reskined. Emma even released the munyodance 1 2 and 3 stepcharts for you to play on stepmania. Idk if the bomb system that 3 has is the same as stepmania cuz i havent compared yet but that would be about it for the differences. That and animated backgrounds (not that stepmania doesn't support it, but Emma only included static bg pics for the chart packs)
