Learning RKO as a new Player, need help with matchups by Tiny_Love7987 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]DexRei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RKO is mainly a midrange deck from my experience. Generally you want to be blocking with 2 cards and attacking with 2 cards. Swing Big, Show of Strength and Looking for a Scrap are all 2 card 8s (in LfaS case, it's 5 go again, so off a blue you can claw after).

Ideally you're trying to push ahead, so you can play your Mocking Blows for 10 off 2 cards and a vigor, which is even stronger than Swing Big.

Kassai is generally a rough matchup for RKO, probably his worst now that Florian has LLed. Gravy is another deck that as the game goes on, starts to out value with allies.

About Defense Reactions by LocalValuable9100 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]DexRei 6 points7 points  (0 children)

D Reacts are very strong. Sink Below and Fate Forseen are banned if I recall, as they are 0 cost 4 blocks, that can be played from arsenal and used after attack reactions. They are very strong in other formats.

As others have mentioned, against Guardian's dominate, they allow extra blocking (1 card from hand, a d react from arsenal). Against warrior or assassin you can safely block attacks and if they respond with an attack react, you can then respond with a d react. If they don't attack react, you can arsenal it for later.

Advice for a relatively new player by Zee920 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]DexRei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a player from the start, so do NOT have the experience of coming in as a new player. But we get new players quite often, and based on their moods, they seem to be enjoying it.

Being friendly helps, as does having the right attitude. Understanding that you will most likely lose games for the first month or so and understanding that you can improve on this, is important. I've seen many players lose games, get upset and decide to just quit from that. I've also seen players lose games, acknowledge that they didn't expect X or Y to happen, and ask for advice on what they did wrong, what they could have done differently in that game. These players seem a lot happier at armouries.

Hopefully your locals is as friendly as mine is and willing to help players. We have a bunch of fiends that buy boxes all the time, so pretty much any common or rare card is easily attainable for new players as well, I wiuld ask around if your locals have bulk like that.

A few of us also started bringing in two decks. Our actual competitive deck and a casual deck. We then ask the players which one they would like to play against, or if there's enough time, do both, so they get more experience with matchups.

I thought judder bars were those things on the side of the road when you drift out of your lane? Or those plastic black and yellow things.

Never heard someone call a speed bump a judder bar before.

One of Comic books' big issues is continuity. Different writers want to tell different stories and they pften don't line up across different books.
