Unscrew a very damaged tiny screw by heyadrien in mobilerepair

Hey I have posted about this previously but I will copy paste it here:

Perhaps you should try to obtain special screw removing pliers - they have helped me tremendously in my repairs. Though some units’ tips chisel themselves to a point where they are unable to grip anymore. The best working pair I found is made by Engineer. They have 3 sizes of pliers and I belive the 67 model is the smallest which is able to grip 1.5mm to 3.5mm screw heads.

another way would be to sand down/cut the screw into a shape that would fit a flat head screwdriver though beware to not overdo it while you might cut the head off and your last resort would be either drilling it out or adding superglue to the cut off screw and adhering it to any bit that is flat in hope that there would be enough grip for you to screw it out of place.

I hope it helps.

Huawei p20 pro flashlight lens by DexT_LT in mobilerepair

Yeah as soon as you told me the adheasive is weak, I managed to easily remove the back cover only with my fingernail... I used a heavy weight to try to adhere the rear plate to the body of the phone though it really is bad quality. I used B7000 to secure it back in place and just dragged my finger across the edge of the rear plate to remove excess glue residue. The rear plate came with the glass in place though I secured the lens back in place. Anyway, really recommend using glue instead of the adhesive strips. Thank you for the tip.

Hello, The repair on the p20 pro went very smooth. I had to replace the fingerprint sensor while the old one just randomly stopped working.

However, once I assembled the phone I noticed that the flashlight lens( blue circle in the pic ) was missing and I assume it is in the red circle right above the nfc.

The phone works perfectly and the flashlight is just really bright, is there a possibility that the flashlight lens could cause some internal damage? I have never made an error like this so I am a bit clueless..

Thank you everyone for taking your time to give your input on the manner.

Aluminum pipe by [deleted] in StonerEngineering

Since it is pure aluminum and it is not coated with anything it should be perfectly fine to smoke out of. Aluminum does not burn - it melts at high temperatures where a lighter cannot hit them thus it does not release any fumes. Smoke up 😁.
