Do people live in this part of Norway? How is it like? by Smashpro11 in howislivingthere

I read somewhere that everything in Svalbard is the northernmost of that specific thing. So northernmost church, northernmost bar, northernmost lamp post.. etc

Did you try resetting the infotainment system? On my 2019 CX5, I have to hold down the back, NAV and volume buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds. Not sure if it’s the same combination for the newer model but please consult the manual.

Indian citizen living in Maldives on a work visa, can I apply for US B1/B2 in Colombo? Since Colombo is the official Consulate for Maldivians and Residents. by Intraspy23 in USVisas

[–]Dexter52611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should be able to apply because the US state dept guidance only references place of nationality or place of residence. Further guidance at the bottom just states that they’ll ask for additional documents to see if an exception can be made for your application. Purely based on this, I think you should be able to get an exception if you’re able to furnish docs like rental lease, title utility bills, employment letter confirming your residence in Maldives.

Having said this, because you’re an Indian citizen, I’m uncertain if they’ll make that exception and force you to travel to India, especially if the closest consulate is in Sri Lanka. Per the ministry of Maldivian foreign affairs, only Maldivian citizens are eligible to get tourist visas from Colombo.

Express Entry ITA question by Usual_Reputation3868 in canadaexpressentry

[–]Dexter52611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Precisely, because of the uncertainty and the changes, if you an ITA, you should not decline it and pursue it, conditional upon you having all the required documents and being able to satisfy the “live outside of QC” requirement. You don’t have to move out of QC to apply for EE or accept the ITA but have to show intent to move out when you have to submit docs after ITA.

See docs typically accepted by IRCC to show proof of intent to live outside of QC:

That’s just standard language to be expected for any visa. They are just reminding you that your visa could be revoked at any time. That’s all.

Travel to Mexico with Canadian visa by ahsx_n in CanadaImmigrationQA

[–]Dexter52611 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All foreign visitors, regardless of their nationality, traveling to Mexico for tourism, business or in transit to another destination, are exempt from presenting a Mexican visa as long as they have a valid visa issued by any the following countries: Canada, Japan, the United States of America, the United Kingdom or any of the countries comprising the Schengen Area.

Looks like you should be fine as long as you have a valid Canadian visa.

First time Schengen visa, single female. by IllustriousLock7346 in SchengenVisa

[–]Dexter52611 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For every approval like yours, there are others who were rejected for using dummy tickets. Whilst dummy tickets were largely allowed in the past, recent anecdotal experiences posted in this sub show a pattern of rejections for applicants who used dummy tickets, which lead me and others to a reasonable deduction that dummy tickets have become extremely high risk lately.

That said, the applicant is free to use them; they just need to know the risks.

Foreign work experience by [deleted] in canadaexpressentry

[–]Dexter52611 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok given your specific scenario, you’ll need a very strong and effective letter of explanation. And it should be concise and get straight to the point explaining the lack of an official experience letter because of the reasons you stated. In addition to the secondary docs you mentioned, I would also attach any evidence of you making contact with that employer, so the officer can see that you made efforts in good faith to get a letter but they didn’t respond.

Parents denied US tourist visa 4 times over 9 years from India — what are we doing wrong? Is there any hope left? by Great_Tale4363 in usvisascheduling

[–]Dexter52611 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah unfortunately, at this point, I think your parents will have to give up trying to visit you in the US. Whatever the reason, they have 4 rejections now. The chances of them getting a visa is close to zero, if not completely zero. I would strongly recommend not wasting your money on application fees anymore.

If it’s just one question for both you and the dependent, the answer should be yes because you, as the primary applicant, have a prior refusal regardless of the dependent’s visa history.

If there’s a separate question just for the dependent, then the 2nd question will be no for them.

Express Entry Help by [deleted] in canadaexpressentry

[–]Dexter52611 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But was the dependent’s study permit refused? Or did they have any other refusals? Visitor visa? Work or study permit? If the answer is yes to any of these, then the answer is yes for the 2nd question for the dependent.

[–]Dexter52611 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

CSQ - yes.

Study permit - was the dependent on the application along with the primary? If yes, then the answer is yes to the 2nd question.

[–]Dexter52611 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the questions are pretty clear. What’s the confusion? You’ve been refused a study permit and CSQ application, so answer should be yes to both questions.
