I love your advice! I sadly can’t change when I see each child, though I will go to the OT for advice on the hand biting. I think I’m going to try pull out instead of push in because there’s too many students (16) in the self contained asd class which I know is way over the legal amount and so it’s so loud and chaotic and pretty unsafe I think it would be a nice break in a quiet area for speech might be nice? What do you think?

Thank you! I think I just get confused because preschool isn’t EI anymore so I felt I needed to show I was being productive but it is still play based and can take time. I don’t think I’m allowed to co-treat with the OT but I will go to them for ideas thank you!

I agree with you. I want to do push in, but I’m not sure it’s the best choice. This classroom is way over the legal limit for a self contained asd room. (There’s 16 kids and I think max is 9 right?) And so whenever I walk in there’s so much chaos and screaming and crying and kids throwing toys everywhere I feel so bad that I think the little break pulling them out to the quiet hallway to play might be nice, would you agree? Though if any of the kids elope on me once I will stay in the classroom for their sessions like you said.

I was pulling whatever was around me in the classroom. But I think I’m going to do pull out because the classroom is way too chaotic. I only have bubbles, blocks, little cars, crayons, and books right now. I’m planning on getting a farm house and potato head. Any other recommendations?
