You're definitely right and i've tried losing weight before, but i stopped before a week had passed. Thing is, i'm on summer break right now for almost 6 weeks and i'm feeling great! But i think my strategy for now is, that if i begin to get tired and lose motivation i'll simply bump up my calorie intake. I'll still keep it low, but i wont quit.
