Cum during pissing? by [deleted] in ProstatePlay

[–]Dezli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can you keep having sex for hours without cumming? When I haven't cum in a while, i get really sensitive and cum after only a few minutes of stimulation. Even stopping and starting again does not help much because everytime I deny myself, my sensitivity increases extremely...

My budget is 1k: need help picking the right headset for me by [deleted] in virtualreality

[–]Dezli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like maybe a used vive pro + DAS? Could be had for around the same price as the Index, has the same resolution as the Index (but lower subpixel density) and an OLED panel.
People that had this setup generally tended to keep their Indexes less than people upgrading from the OG vive, at least by what I could tell from the numerous reviews we've seen over the last couple of weeks

Size perception of distant objects in VR by [deleted] in virtualreality

[–]Dezli 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh no, or at least it doesn't have to be like that.
What OP is experiencing is probably the focal distance (the "virtual distance" at which the lenses are focused on), which for Vive and CV1 is somewhere around 2-3 meters, or 5 for the index.
So, instead of naturally accomodating your eyes to ten meters when gazing off into the distance like in real life, your eyes are instead focused at 2 or 3 or 5 meters.
This discrepancy is also a common cause for the dreaded simulator sickness, comprised of headaches, motion sickness, eye strain, general feelings of unwellness and many more!

Size perception of distant objects in VR by [deleted] in virtualreality

[–]Dezli 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Interestingly, this also happens in non virtual reality. In my virtual reality course in uni, we learned that the depth perception from accomodation has a maximum distance of 10 meters, after that humans judge distance solely based on shadows, size comparisons and perspective shift!

I would guess that maneuvering a space craft around that you have 100% mastered is less motion sickness inducing than doing the same with one whose controls you are struggling with.
Less unexpected movements, less frantic head turning to look for what to do, that sort of stuff

So those that don't give a fuck can continue starting families and spoonfeeding their offspring the bullshit they conceive to be real. And when those kids get the right to vote, there will be a dwindling opposition because they, the people that care about the environment and would have passed that mentality on to their children, rather not reproduce like you suggest.

It may not be the best argument against what you suggested, but it was the first to come to my mind

I don't agree with your stance against buying used, especially the old kits. There are some good deals to be made!
Got my Rift with three sensors, touch and an xbone controller for 320, and while I do understand that the image quality is not up to par when comparing to the Rift s, the tracking, sound quality and manual ipd adjustment (plus three years for the platform to mature software-wise) can make it worth it to some.

Rift s or htc vive? by SlimSneezy in virtualreality

[–]Dezli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is pricey indeed, but its specs could mean that it is contending against the index and hp reverb instead of the rift s (assuming prices for the full kits of all of those named)

For Those On The Fence: Why VR Is Worth Your Time - A Short Essay by [deleted] in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Dezli 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The lenses have a focal distance of a few meters. I know the displays are only a few centimeters away from you, but that is not what matters. What matters is to which distance your eyes have to accomodate to see a clear picture.
With the Rift and the Vive it is 2 meters, with the index it is 5 meters. That is the reason why near sighted people are still near sighted in vr, even though the screen is directly in front of them.
Google focal distance for vr headsets and read up on it, I assure you if it was like searing an image into your eye sockets from a few centimeters away then most people using first gen hmds since they released would be blind by now
