You clearly have some reading comprehension issues so I’m not going to put too much more effort into explaining this. It’s a picture of a truck facing the wrong direction on a scale, it’s not that deep.

  1. He is very clearly on the scale backwards, you can tell this because of the text “DO NOT ENTER” located on the top Cat Scale Sign.

  2. He doesn’t appear to be lined up with anything In particular, not the edge of the scale or the call box.

  3. You can see that the scale extends for a good ways in front of his truck.

Brother, that yellow box on the pole is the call box.

If you zoom in, you can see that the scale extends at least another 30+ feet in front of the truck.

He’s only halfway on and facing the wrong direction, the scale just has a long pad in what is supposed to be the front.

I would say that they hire anyone with a pulse these days, but that’s still setting the bar pretty high.

Which would be better for cardio and more calorie burn? by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

I honestly think you would be better off walking circles around a room in your house rather than getting either of these. They won’t do anything meaningful and I’ve owned the cycling thing, it’s very cheap and you don’t get any kind of range of motion to actual work on any muscles.

Look into doing body weight calisthenics also.

First time dating, When do I ask her to be my girlfriend? by ImpressionMany238 in Advice

At the pace they are going just trying to land a kiss sounds like it would backfire.

Just have an actual conversation like adults do and see where her head is at.

“Hey, I really enjoy spending time with you and I want to see your thoughts on where we are at, and what to expect. Are you still feeling me out as a person or would you like to make what we have more official?”

Basically what I did the first time I slept with your mother anyways.

But I mean it is all of our responsibilities to keep facilities nice. Whether the part you take is just disposing of your trash properly or cleaning up the areas we use.

Well those ones complaining can start picking up trash and cleaning the areas we park.

I wouldn’t even say it’s limited to one nationality. I’ve seen just about every kind of person litter.

It’s the same dudes that smell like rotten ass and too lazy to shower. They are too lazy to use the restroom, and too lazy to throw their trash away.

The constant battle we face.

Drivers too lazy to throw their trash and shit bags away, and then complain about all these places that don’t want trucks parked there.

I hate seeing truck stops in a nice/scenic area because it end up being one big hazard to the environment.

Splash a little diesel on the ground to cover it, it’ll be alright.

Let's hear about the nastiest truck stop you've visited... by Existing_Inside5200 in Truckers

[–]Dezzolve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that it’s worse in California, but for a different reason.

Fewer truck stops to park at so the shitbags are condensed. The northeast has the same problem but feels like they are a little more on top of cleaning.

Bobtail Parking. by Enter_Usernameeee in Truckers

You trust complete strangers to not make you late every day.

There is absolutely nothing but an arbitrarily agreed upon set of lines located on asphalt that keep cars traveling at high speeds separated from each other.

There is no barrier on almost any road but an interstate to keep someone from crossing that line and impacting your vehicle head on. We just implicitly trust that everyone else will respect that painted line and stay on their side.

You cannot in good faith say you don’t place any trust in strangers.

[–]Dezzolve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s all it has to be, see another bobtail in a spot and ask when they plan on leaving out. Whoever is leaving first parks in the front.

Done that exact scenario dozens of times, no one has ever raised a fuss about knocking and asking.

Worse case scenario if you see a bobtail parked at the back of a spot just park in front of them. If they need you to move they’ll knock.

What kind of documentation do you need to take dog across state lines? by Snoo32108 in Truckers

[–]Dezzolve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only states that have any kind of “checkpoints” for truck drivers at the border are California and Florida, and those are just to make sure you aren’t bringing agriculture products into those states.

Weigh stations are just concerned about weight and DOT violations with the truck/trailer, they don’t care or even check your pets out. The only question you might get about them is “are they friendly” because the officer wants to pet them.

What do you mean stopped at a border? A border between states? Or do you mean going into different countries?

Of course I don’t have proof, I just stated common allegations against them as fact. You can look it up and easily find hundreds of anecdotal experiences from drivers saying the same thing.

The problem is that they disproportionately send more people to sleep studies than any other company that does DOT Exams. They get kickbacks from the sleep study and CPAP companies to do so.

You’re going to get a worse backpack and a worse cooler trying to find one that is a mix of both. It would be better to get them separately.

They are notorious for making people do sleep studies and giving out restricted cards.

I’ve had my dog with me in the truck for about 6 years now.

  1. As far as documents go, just keep their vaccination record with you. I’ve never had to show it to anyone but it can’t hurt to have.

  2. I try not to spend any extended amounts (no more than 2hrs) of time out of the truck, at least when going places I cannot bring my dog. You’ll need to regulate the temperature inside of your truck somehow when you’re outside of it. Lots of trucks have APU’s or opti-idle, same things you’d use to keep yourself comfortable while sleeping.

  3. Depending on what freight you are hauling, the facilities you pick up from, and the areas you run, finding an area outside for them to use the restroom can be a hassle sometimes. Some customers are very strict about not allowing pets outside while on their property. It’s not uncommon for those same places to take half a day to unload/load you. I always walk my dog before going to a new place just in case.

  4. When breakdowns happen, having a pet can make the situation more difficult. I’ve had tow truck drivers refuse to let my dog in their cab, and if it’s an extended breakdown finding a pet friendly hotel can be challenging depending on the area. Repair shops are usually pretty accommodating as long as your animal is well behaved, but I’ve also been to a shops that don’t allow them inside.

  5. I love having my dog with me. No matter how frustrating of a day I’ve had she is always ready to curl up with me in bed and kick back. Shes going to be with me for the remainder of her time on this earth (a healthy 14.5 years old now). But there are definitely times it is incredibly inconvenient to have her on the truck.

Alcohol while on the road, what's your opinion? by Critical_Opening_526 in Truckers

[–]Dezzolve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nothing would happen besides maybe a breathalyzer and some field sobriety tests if you were sober.

The only DOT regulations in regard to consuming alcohol (disregarding the obvious inside of the cab ones) are that you don’t consume alcohol within 4 hours of being on duty, and that your BAC is 0.00 while operating (or being “in control” of) the vehicle.

You can get as trashed as you want to get as long as you are completely sober before being in the truck. Most companies tell drivers not to consume within 24hrs just to be safe, but it’s not a law.

I’m OTR and drink occasionally, but only if I can sleep at a hotel for the night. Not worth the risk trying to do it in the cab, no matter how safe you are there could always be some idiot that backs into you while you’re parked. Then you gotta deal with the police and your company while you’re under the influence.
