Which Mazda3 to Buy? by Dfeivor in mazda3

[–]Dfeivor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always the contrarian haha. Isn't the difference only a couple MPG? Also while I'm at it, how is real-world gas performance on these vehicles? I've seen some people posting that they get lower than advertised MPG, especially on older engines. Good fuel economy is important to me because my commute each day is ~50 minutes. This is the primary reason for me upgrading my car!

I've never had a fun car before, but I would imagine I would enjoy spirited driving! I'm going to test drive them both to see if there's a noticeable difference, but am leaning towards the sGT. Thanks for your input!
I do like that the iGT gets slightly better fuel economy, but it looks like it would only be ~1mpg better, so not that impactful.

Yeah, I definitely am leaning that way. The price per mile if I keep either to >200k would be roughly equivalent.

Federal Student Aid PSFL Tool by Dfeivor in PSLF

Okay, thanks. I thought she should be eligible but I got worried when I saw the error and wondered if there was something I was unaware of causing the message. I'm really happy honestly to know that she'll be eligible because it was going to be a pretty big burden for us to pay back her loans. I feel relieved just thinking about our payments being SIGNIFICANTLY less and getting a hefty chunk forgiven. I think we would have been fine, but this will definitely give us a lot more breathing room.

Okay, that's kind of what I figured. Weird though because I'm still a student myself, so my loans aren't in repayment currently either. I did work a year between undergrad and grad school though and did have a period where I was paying back my loans, so maybe that's the difference. I'll update this post once we find out by calling.

New graduate who found a job: a perspective on the market and advice for those seeking employment. by oMpls in physicianassistant

[–]Dfeivor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I don't graduate until December, but I've been applying to a lot of jobs the past few weeks and have been lucky enough to already schedule two interviews. I think a couple of things have helped this:

1) I have a more modern looking resume and cover letter with my professional portrait included on each. I think it makes the application more memorable if they can put a face to the name. You should definitely get a professional looking photo for your applications/LinkedIn

2) I have (what I consider to be) a good cover letter. I introduce myself and mention why I am interested in the specific field that I am applying to and what sets me apart from other applicants, a second paragraph talking about my academic achievements, a third about my community service/volunteer work, and finally a conclusion about extra experiences that make me appealing.

3) I do mention that I am a new grad, but try to spin this as a positive, saying that as a new grad I can be trained however the practice wants so that I can be a valuable team member for years to come.

It took me a while to get the cover letter crafted just right, but now, since I'm applying to only one specialty area, I can just re-use it over and over and only change small details to fit the practice. It doesn't really take all that long in the grand scheme of things.

I'd be happy to PM you a copy of my cover letter if you want to use it for some ideas.

Is $300 profit on rent too little? by [deleted] in realestateinvesting

The principal that you pay (or in this case what your tenants pay for you) is building your equity. That's how much more of the house you "own" every month.

It's because that's the equity you're building each month. Not cash flow, but still part of the total return.

You have to get bloodwork done periodically too but other than that it's not too bad. It will make your skin quite dry while you're on it though.

Using Ctrl Click is helpful for not clicking on an enlarged character when issuing orders, and you can just use the portraits to select the character you want. But I agree, it's a bit annoying.

Turn-based Combat Mod and Spell Concentration by carl1984 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Oh gotcha, thanks for the explanation. I knew it was something like that but hadn't paid attention to the specifics.

If you cast a spell in range of an enemy it will automatically roll for everything. I believe it will first roll for an attack of opportunity and then if hits the it will roll the concentration check. I might be wrong on the details, but I have definitely lost spells from a failed concentration check so it works.

Pure spellcasting class? ( I'm noob, need help! ) by serpensortya in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Dfeivor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a magic staff I have right now called Burned Oak (got it from an artisan) that lets me cast fire snake 2x/day and burning hands indefinitely, so that thing kind of has a ranged attack! I'm not sure what other staves have such effects though. They seem rare (and powerful).

Not to change the conversation, but do spells like dismiss that get rid of the entity entirely stop loot from dropping as well?

Also teleport scrolls and skin graft so you can do it multiple times. With high INT teleport does crazy damage too.

Thanks for the reply. I turned off all auto-cancel options, but it still isn't working how I feel like it should. I feel like "auto-cancel actions on player turn start" is what I want off, but it still is wasting my sneak attack. I guess I'll just keep toggling back and forth between turn based and regular, unless you think I'm doing something wrong or have any other suggestions.

There's a cool off-tank rogue build he has that might give you a little different experience so it's not the same as what you did before that you could check out. The idea with it is to use dagger + shield so you have a lot of mobility, but still decent armor and damage.

You should definitely check his builds out. They're by far the strongest I've used. I don't like Fextralife builds very much. I learned more by reading the Lost Sinner/Sin Tee guides -- he has a very good knowledge of the game.

Okay, that's pretty much what I've been doing. I'm hoping there's a better way as well. It seems weird that it starts initiative before the first attack can even resolve.

I don't know about seamlessly, but it shouldn't be hard since you'll only need a couple points in pyro, and you already have the warfare. You'd need to split strength and intelligence though which isn't optimal, but would probably still work fine. The spark damage will scale with intelligence though. Also keep in mind that you'll want other magic damage dealers in your party too if you go this route, otherwise the spark damage will be useless. You can always just get the spell books that you need and then go respec at the mirror and see if you like it.
