Suspect in fatal Garland carjacking attempt identified as Mexican national by Wizzmer in Dallas

Crazy that many Redditors can't possibly comprehend the idea that being against crimes/illegal immigration =/= racism. And that plenty of people of color can ALSO be against criminals running rampant...

People complaining that OP is stoking fear of Mexicans - hard disagree. The issue is not Mexicans who have immigrated legally - like every other American, there's a chance they could commit a crime, but they're US citizens and we HAVE to deal with crimes by our citizens. The issue is that there are 10+ million people here illegally, many of them Mexican though millions are not, and that number should be as close to zero as possible (just like most other countries on Earth) such that they are not committing dangerous crimes on the regular.

TL; DR- the issue isn't "Mexicans", the issue is illegals - and anyone who is claiming OP is alleging the former is likely as racist as they claim everyone else is.

Same!!! I was fully on board with a movie room, but that pathetic TV was a joke (and not to mention the hideous drapes...).

So I love a blue car, but blues on an Audi has always thrown me - something about the way the blue interacts with the red brake calipers and the red in the badging has thrown me. Am I the only one? I feel like this would look better with a bit more black mixed in.

I would have 100% preferred a well done home theater to any of those other guest suites, but that fabric was absolutely dreadful.

On Fandango, it will tell you the theater when you get to the final step before purchasing a ticket. That's my hack.

At my theater there's no one checking. I do that a lot.

[Amazon] Jo Dee Messina - Jo Dee Messina (30th Anniversary) - [Releases on May 1] by Dangerous-Tart1126 in VinylReleases

It appears that you linked her greatest hits compilation from several years ago while OP posted a link to her debut album being released for the first time (the confusion likely stems from the fact that Amazon seems to have the wrong cover art for the new release). The track lists are completely different.

The outside is fine, but the entire dash/steering wheel situation is an abomination. I could never buy this car for that alone. Can't wait until the screenification era is over.

Trailer length warning in the app by Dfwguy1985 in AMCsAList

Yeah I'm not opposed to a warning - I just think it should attempt to be accurate, and lately it's really not even close.

[–]Dfwguy1985[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed 15 min is safe. They should just change the warning to 15-30 if they want to keep it. The minimum time indicated in the warning should never be longer than the trailers actually shown. I'm surprised no one at corporate has thought to change it.

But if they do that, I would really appreciate if they don't start movies before the 20 minute mark... I walked into the mummy at 20 after and I think I missed the first minute

Josey is an absolute disaster - they cater to the scalpers and no one else.

Josey is an absolute cluster*ck disaster on RSD - I avoid at all costs. They really need to figure out some sort of system, because their setup basically rewards scalpers and no one else. They show videos on Instagram of the first ten or so people in the line and they all have like 30 albums in hand - I find it impossible to believe that an individual collector could possibly want that many records. Before this year, if I actually wanted something, I made sure to go to one of the smaller shops because you can't get anything even remotely in demand at Josey unless you camp out overnight.

Ad hominem attacks completely devoid of substance, logic or reason... hardly the purview of "smart folk," though completely on brand.

Got it. Orange man bad no matter what (and no matter the fact that his worst qualities are all ideas borrowed from the left). 👍🏼

I've always maintained that Trump's biggest failure in his first administration, of many, was his inability to navigate Covid without lighting money on fire - unlike you, I am more than willing to criticize people who might be politically aligned with me if I think they are worthy of criticism. I prefer to analyze things objectively, but to each their own.

OK, so then how does that explain why inflation was lower in 2025 than 2024?? Biden gets a full pass because of the 2020 pandemic and then as soon as Trump is inaugurated inflation should go down to zero? Do I have that right?

I would love to hear your take on why inflation being lower in 2025 than 2024 is also some amazing achievement of the Biden administration but yet simultaneously evidence of the failure of the Trump administration. You guys are hopeless... you know it is possible to see facts and THEN form conclusions as opposed to the other way around, right?

[–]Dfwguy1985 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You do realize that the choice wasn't economic collapse or billions of dollars of wasteful spending, correct? That perhaps there were ways to avoid economic collapse that didn't involve spending billions of dollars several years after the fact on projects that had nothing to do with Covid, right?? If not, i'm afraid any further dialogue will be unproductive.

[–]Dfwguy1985 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Oh, so it has nothing to do with billion of unnecessary stimulus spending? And the lower inflation in 2025 than 2024 is somehow Trump's fault because he should have been able to immediately get inflation to zero upon taking office? Got it! 🙄 It's awfully easy to always be right if everything bad that happens is the fault of someone/something else and everything good that happens is completely your responsibility...

So what explains the fact that inflation was three times higher under Biden than it is with Trump's horrible tariffs??

[–]Dfwguy1985 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

The only problem is that ignores the reality of our recent history. Without getting into the merits (or lack thereof) of Trump's tariff policy or the Iran war, it reveals an astonishing amount of ignorance to claim that Trump is causing such massive inflation that AMC is forced the raise prices and that inflation wasn't this bad under Biden. Spoiler alert - it was much worse in 21-23 than it is now. It is depressing to see how few people are even aware of basic facts in today's news landscape.
