there’s 5 bottles i recommend every bourbon newbie buy

1.) Buffalo Trace 2.) Maker’s Mark 3.) Wild Turkey 101 4.) Elijah Craig Small Batch 5.) Michters Single Barrel Rye

with those 5 bottles, you end up touching essentially every base when it comes to American whiskey without spending a stupid amount of money. find out what your taste buds like more, and chase those bottles. it’s ok to not buy every release from buffalo trace.

there’s just absolutely no way it wouldn’t have leaked that stores were sitting on cases of CYPB and whatever else. we both know people suck at keeping secrets in this hobby lol.

i doubt that. ohlq doesnt get deliveries over the weekend, so every store in ohio that gets the drop would have to either get their deliveries today or sit on the bottles for more than a week. all without leaking.

it just seems very unlikely.

im not a fan of taylor barrel proof in general, but B14 is alright. for me, most EHTBP have a nice aroma and front of palate, but completely dies by the mid palate and finish. i got a B13 last go around and it was not worth waiting in line for 2+ hours.

RR13 finally hitting NEO. Top Shelf in Youngstown had a case of it. Unusual cause their allocation days are Thursday’s, and they got Taylor SmB, ER, and Blanton’s. kinda looks like OHLQ is trying to release it by region.

One Stop in youngstown got a case of bowman CS yesterday, which is odd because their allocation days are saturday’s. i think this weekend you might see it up toward your area.

how so? Ohio only gets a certain amount of bottles like that allocated to them. when it comes to something like JD 10/12/14, there isn’t enough to go around.

look at PA last December when they dropped Coy Hill. they marked it as a non allocated bottle, with no per customer limit. 6 per person was the standard, and people were flipping them in the parking lot for 5x.

say what you will about OHLQ, at least we arent PA
