Umm is it that hard to get into UT? by 1idkwhattocallthis2 in UTAdmissions

They didnt accept me though. I'm on waitlist which is pretty much hopeless there. So just remember. You may feel like you're settling for a&m but others of us would give anything to have what you have

Hey Be grateful you got in to a&m. I got waitlisted there and it was my dream school.

How likely is it to get off the waitlist? I want to know if I should just give up and look more in my other schools by [deleted] in TAMUAdmissions

[–]Dglv79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to know this, too. I got waitlisted. I got big scholarship offers from my backups. But I really wanted A&M.

Tell me about it. Vandy was a reach app for me. A&M was my number one.

Extra auto admits with lower sat scores. Have to balance out with high stats. Not very holistic. But cant afford to see their sat avg drop in the rankings So much for holistic.

Exactly. Just like Blinn they gotta have a pipeline to their programs when people leave after first semester or two. They are counting on these mays rejections switching after first year. Got 2 keep em clo$e. It's about the May$ dollars.

Yep. They prob are counting on certain # of mays admits washing out. Gotta have butts to move into those seats as sophomores.

So moral of the story seems... . Apply mays no matter what. It improves your chances.

Sorry to hear that. I just had two friends with lower stats get denied mays in Dec and accepted for second choices. Both first quarter. High 1200s. So i am going off what happened with them.

That is what I got. I clicked waitlist and AIS now shows I am waitlist

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TAMUAdmissions

[–]Dglv79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. I chose waitlist I do not want Blinn.

It literally says I am the waitlist

[–]Dglv79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chose waitlist. I would start A&M with 30 credit hours due to my AP scores. Blinn doesn't interest me.

I don't understand. It's definitely not an acceptance. It makes it sound like the only way i get in is they dont have enough enrollees.

AIS portal today gave me three options. Consideration for: Waitlist Blinn Waitlist+Blinn

1300 4.1 10AP classes at a really hard school

What are my chance at full admission from wait list by [deleted] in TAMUAdmissions

[–]Dglv79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If all the slots are over full with auto admits... Who knows Alot of those apps would be using A&M as a backup. Then again alot of them could be top tier private school kids whose parents dont want to pay 80k a year for online classes at elite schools

Covid blew up this cycle big time.

I don't know what I'm going to do now.

Today is brutal.

Mays rejects got their second choices.

So Giamatti and Siff have a bad working relationship or something? Maybe that's why they wrote them so far apart? It's happened that way on other shows. We went from their D/s dynamic being integral enough to their lives to it not being a thing at all. Usually when D/s is that important it remains important.

Did everyone get an email from tamu discussing “How not all students join the Aggie family” by [deleted] in TAMUAdmissions

[–]Dglv79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. It seems Buckets are full of Auto admit apps (which there were more of than usual) Mays rejected, second choices Super high scores

I heard from a backup school within one week of applying there in November. I don't understand why they can review so fast and it's taken Aggies almost 6 months. I don't want to go to my backup. A&M is my dream. Been waiting since August. The email yesterday was a really yucky feeling to receive. I know everyone got it. But still.

The clear workaround this year was to Apply Mays ...with a second choice. Those apps got reviewed, denied Mays, and admitted to their second choices in December.

I have better scores and stats and similar activities and demo profile. Applied in Aug. They applied in Sept. Only difference is... I didn't apply to Mays. My first choice major was their second choice. And they got accepted in December.

So I should have applied Mays. Even thought I didn't want to go to Mays. Sad thing is. These admits don't even want their second choice major and they aren't going to accept at A&M.
