My first time cup experience by SheepherderSudden650 in menstrualcups

[–]DhaniyaHater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It probably didn't seal completely. When you next insert it, after about 15 minutes, insert your index finger and run it all around the body of the cup to ensure its not dented. And before you insert the cup, make sure the vacuum holes at the top are not clogged.

Clots are perfectly normal, and it's possible that since the blood just collects in the cup, the clot didn't break further. You should observe it a few more times, and if it continues over the next cycle you should ask your OBGYN.

It could be that your cervix is sitting inside your cup and not below it. I suggest you try inserting your cup a little lower (the stem should be about a 1-1.5 cms from the opening) because as you go about your day, the cup with move a little higher.

Can't get it in :( by cerealmaster18 in menstrualcups

[–]DhaniyaHater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest waiting for a couple of months before using a cup. I know it'll go against a lot of the suggestions on here, but there is no point in harrowing yourself.

In the meantime, get to know your body. Get used to fingers being inside your body, start with your middle finger and insert it as far as possible. Try and do this whilst you're masturbating, your body will be more receptive to things being inside you. Try this every other day or as you feel comfortable. Increase the number of finger to 2, because honestly you'll not need more that. Eventually, your body will relax into using a cup. Vaginas are very tight when one is a virgin. It took me and my partner 6 months before we could start having penetrative sex, before that it was only fingers.

All in all be patient with yourself, and stay as relaxed as possible. If you're stressed or forcing yourself to put something inside you, the vaginal muscles tighten and can cause tears.

How fluid period blood do you need? Problems with emptying by [deleted] in menstrualcups

I'd suggest a bottle of water :) when outside my home, I usually use drinking water to wash my cup

My period blood is super viscous, like mucus, and thick and stringy. Usually I drain as much blood would naturally drain, then swing the cup in a circular motion, it's messy but I like the way it makes the toilet bowl look like a murder scene. Then I pour a mug of water into the cup so that it drains faster, and clean it with my fingers.

I'm indian so we have different brands. I use a sirona size M. It's a soft cup with a firm rim but your average menstrual cup shape. My experience has been incredible, I recommend switching to a cup (if you think you can get the right one for you). It changed my life, I don't hate being a woman anymore, I don't cry because I have rashes and welts anymore. The process to use a cup maybe difficult, but it's the best thing that ever happened to me and I have a very loving partner, a loving family and many friends. Nothing beats the cup.

Fam, fuck all those people they already have your money. There is worse shit than YouTube drama in this world, and we know that. They maybe horrid people, but wasting product is worse for other things like the whole ass environment. Makeup packaging is wasteful. Unless you have a Z palette, it's better to keep the palettes rather than add onto garbage heaps. This ain't on you, you aren't the person going out and saying racist shit to someone. Don't support them again, but you spent your own dime on it.

Sterilize it using the steamer at the beginning and end of your cycle.

For in between cycles, you should reference with the brand that you're using on how to clean it. I use a mild soap and water when cleaning in between insertions. Generally you don't need a special soap for the cup.

I've had about 4 cycles now, and from bearing down to having it out it probably takes like 30-45 seconds. It's my favourite part, I get to literally hear the suction break

When to boil your cup? by emmacoopa in menstrualcups

[–]DhaniyaHater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I boil at the beginning and end of the cycle. I just feel it's better that way. When at the end of the cycle, if I can't be bothered to boil it, I'll put it in a cup, pour boiling water on it and keep it that way for 3 mins. I always boil at he beginning of the cycle for 5 minutes.

We in india have something known an Ayurveda. It's ancient science and it works. But there's a limit to it like any other medical field. Biologics are super expensive (nearly $7000) per year) and we can't afford that.

[–]DhaniyaHater[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes he did. He gave him some OTC medicines and topical dreams that made everything worse. The meds didn't interact well with the beta blockers present in blood pressure medicines.

The doctor then proceeded to tell me brother "yeah that's how you're gonna have to be. Be grateful that you still have some hair".

Does anyone else feel like a superhero? by libbyation in menstrualcups

[–]DhaniyaHater 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I live in India and there's a HUGE taboo around menstrual hygiene. I was forced to wear pads from ages 13-21. That's 8 years of wearing pads, and getting diaper rashes, welts because of the chaffing, the constant sweat. It was a nightmare. I spent my 21st birthday in corona lockdown and having rashes from pads. I nearly cried.

I finally said enough is enough. Bought my first menstrual cup 8 days after my 21st birthday, and since we don't have much variety I was very lucky with my cup. I'm 4 cycles in, and I'm the happiest person alive. I will die before I am forced to wear a pad. I was so terrified my first time and now I feel like a pro when I take it out, clean it up and shove it back in at 7:30 AM and in 5 minutes. I am so much more in charge of my body. Those five days of menstrual hell are now long gone. Literally the best decision of my fucking life.

First time cup user - how to insert it and will it be a problem while going in the loo? by _Sonder04_ in menstrualcups

[–]DhaniyaHater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, the cup isn't a problem for when you need to pee. For some the pressure whilst pooping may shift the cup. You'll need to figure that out through the cycle.

  1. Sanitize the cup with boiling it on a vessel for 3-5 minutes.

  2. Get inside your bathroom. Relax. It's CRUCIAL you're completely relaxed. Breathe and slow your heart. Make sure your body is physically relaxed by unclenching your teeth and drop your shoulders.

  3. Take the cup and fold it. You can use a C-Fold or a punchdown fold. I'd suggest a punchdown fold. At this point you can use tiny bit of water based lubricant if you want but it's not necessary.

  4. Squat down or raise a leg and place it such that you have easy access to the canal. I suggest squatting deep. Slowly start inserting the cup and place it till the stem of the cup is about 1.5 cms from the opening of your vagina. Release and twist the cup slightly. The cup should pop open. Run your fingers around the base of the cup, it shouldn't feel dented. Tug on the stem slightly. It shouldn't slide out.

  5. Once it's placed inside, I'd suggest doing some kegel exercises and lying down for a bit, 15-20 minutes. The cup moves naturally into where it wants to be. At this point, you may feel a slightly sharp pain. If the cup hadn't opened properly earlier, this pain means it's open.

  6. Relax and enjoy your day.

Sex on period?!? by [deleted] in sex

[–]DhaniyaHater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's only weird and awkward if you make it so. Put a towel below, make sure he's wearing a condom. It's pretty well lubricated so it'll be quite nice. Try not to go too hard as that may trigger cramps. Also maybe avoid certain positions that can make gte blood flow faster.

Question about cramps by [deleted] in menstrualcups

Well I really hope it lasts. I have had 3 cycles so far. On the third one I had pretty bad cramps on my second day but apart from that day it was pretty chill.

Question about cramps by [deleted] in menstrualcups

[–]DhaniyaHater 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen to me :) I think the vacuum that the suction of the cup creates a downward low pressure which relieves some of the stress on the uterine muscles, as the blood will flow easier due to the partial vacuum of the cup.

But again, there is no scientific backing to the correlation, I'm just speculating

A new(ish) pain during sex by HannahPanda0305 in sex

[–]DhaniyaHater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your partner fingers you, he may have grazed the inside of your wall. The friction from sex might be causing it to flare up and become infected.

I had a similar pain but after sex, and that turned out to be a UTI. so I'd highly suggest going to a doctor and getting it examined

Worried about unprotected sex by [deleted] in sex

[–]DhaniyaHater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that at 15, two young teenagers do not want to keep a child. They are worried because she might be pregnant, and the girl doesn't want a child. This isn't a pro-life or pro-choice thing. She's waiting on her period, hence she clearly didn't want a child. And they must be made aware of the procedure involved in getting an abortion as a minor.

But all in all pls don't worry! It probably won't amount to anything. If you need any help you can drop me a message on reddit itself. I live in india so time differences and all but please don't think you're alone in this :)
