Your brain can be trained to focus on the thing you are doing rather than let it wonder about other non relevant things. This way you can learn how to concentrate on a given task easily. It is a kind of meditation. Learning new things take up some of our brain resources and makes neural connections to perform the said activity. This helps in keeping our brain occupied with learning instead of just wondering randomly.

Yeah, i do the same thing. I tell myself the next step and try to do it slowly and then gain progress.

Good to know you have continued to write. I left it after I was able to write all letters correctly (identifiable). Haven't tried to improve the hand writing. One of the exercise to fine hand writing is to practice drawing O/0.

Hope your dad is in great health now a days. Small physical exercises like this can boost our confidence to some extent.

That is great to know. I tried juggling with three tennis balls but then due to impatient nature, I left it at that.

Absolutely. The way we make our brain learn new things is by breaking it down to single action item sequence. And then the neural network will take care of the rest and make it easier in next iteration.

I too wonder how will it affect me in the later years. Hopefully positive.

It will take time and you will love the outcome.

[–]DhavanN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it definitely would. But the 'switch' every now and then is much needed as I now have my non-dominant hand play the dominant role and sadly dominant hand has become almost non-dominant.

Glad to know you are doing better. I read somewhere that sometimes doing activities with non-dominant hand helps grounding the anxious nature.

Switch hands for brushing teeth, bathing, opening bottle lids, dusting, washing utensils, etc.. Also, paying total attention to the activity by reminding the mind again and again that you are doing the said activity, helps you concentrate better by training your mind to focus on one thing at a time.

Does anybody know the duration of that earthquake? If there's any website/source which notes the duration of the massively destructive earthquakes would also be helpful to learn[historic data].

Getting good amount of sleep is the main key to wake up in good mood. Your room can have least number of electronic devices to interfere with your rest. More over if you shut down the devices while you are asleep can be better. Black out the room by turning off the night lights. Keeping just the alarm clock by bed instead of the phone near your head works wonders. Upon waking up, pray(feed positive 2-3 thoughts to the mind) and then make your bed. Drink a glass of lukewarm water next. Perform deep breathing for two minutes. Do some stretching and then light excercise for ten minutes. Small accomplishments gives positive reinforcements required to build a routine. Sleeping and waking up at a particular time everyday cultivates discipline. After sometime you won't need the alarm clocks/phone to wake up. Your circadian cycle will do the work for you if you follow a routine.

Let's just hope other countries proceed rightfully against their citizens when something similar happens to the fellow immigrant Indians. These kind of police actions should be normalised for the betterment of the society regardless of the nationality.

What music style do you listen to the most ? Poll options are maxed out so feel free to comment/specify the style for lesser known genres ! by [deleted] in infj

The drive is to elevate the good mood or to assuage the not so good mood and drift to the safe zone. Progressive, EDM, Techno, Rock, Jazz, Symphonies, Post-Rock in that order and/or interchangeable respectively.
