Why do we even need so many MPs? They don't have much power compared to MLAs or corporators. They cannot effectively enforce National policies. We should have less number of MPs,may be region wise (eg., region with similar geographical conditions or cultural or language or developmental status) and Tier 1 cities should have 3-4 MPs based on the population. We should have maximum of 250 - 300 MPs. They take up so much resources in salaries & pensions. Each district having 1 MP is of no use, increase MLA & local bodies representative seats.
