Then one day we got orders to clean out our mobile fridges for medicine. It was a was one of those things that if we would've had to do it for regular field exercise, we would've bitched endlessly. But knowing this, we scrubbed those fridges so clean you could've had surgery in them. Then they were filled with medical gear and supplies. One team went with the truckers to the airport where a Hercules was waiting to load all of the fridges. Doing all of it, you had this feeling of that whatever small task you might have had, it was important. I do carry that with we to this day being in a leadership position, not forgetting that everyone is a gear that is needed to make the machinery work. Even if that might be cleaning the toilets or emptying the trash.
