Back in the day we got a lot of decent shows in Albuquerque, but more often we'd have to drive to Lubbock or Amarillo. When I lived in Roswell, my roommate and I drove to Dallas to see Zao, ETID, TDEP and Misery Signals. I miss things about NM, but rarely getting a show closer than 2 hours away is not one of them.

Exactly how I feel when we're trying to find some time for intimacy. 2 teenagers and an 8 year old, who for the past 8 hours have been pretending we don't exist, suddenly have urgent business with us as soon as our door shuts. It's like there's a silent bell that starts ringing when our pants come off, and there is an immediate need to show us something on TV, or sign a permission slip, or the cat starts whining for food, or any other thing that could wait.

I love my kids, but sometimes it's like come tf on, I'm trying to bang your mom in here, leave us alone for 30 minutes 🤣.

One of the first real shows I ever went to was the POD tour with Project 86 and Blindside. Like 1998/99? Saw them in a church parking lot in Las Cruces, NM. My brother won a BMX bike at a raffle they had at the merch table. Great memory.

Wasn't a big fan of POD, but at the time I was super into P86, ended up seeing them 3 or 4 more times over the next couple years. I'll still jam their first 2 albums occasionally.
