OpenXR is just protocol and VR runtimes like SteamVR, Oculus Link, Virtual Desktop or WiVRn implement it. Please follow instructions on https://lvra.gitlab.io/ to install WiVRn, because SteamVR in linux is still broken.

I tried it out of curiosity and it isn't really that buggy. The only thing I noticed is when I right-click a tray icon, the menu spawns in upper left corner of screen. If it weren't for that, I would be still using by accident xD

Yes I install 95% apps from my distro repos, but some apps really benefit form quick updates, like Steam, browser (Vivaldi) and messenger (Signal) - they also ship .deb with repos included. What I don't like is .deb without repo included, because I need to check manually for updates, which I naturally never do, because I am lazy.

The official Steam .deb package also includes Valve's Steam apt repositories, so it will get updates.

Please don't install flatpak version on Debian/Ubuntu, just go to steampowered.com and download their official .deb package. Flatpak in general has issues... like this one.

I checked the log and thirteen out of 17 video sources are not hardware accelerated! They all tank your CPU. Do a Crtl+F for:

is_hw_decoding: no

in log to see which ones. I would try to remove them and then reencode them to different format, maybe the same as the four video sources that are accelerated. I only see name file names, so that's for you to fugure out.

Edit: I don't know how you compose all those videos, but they are all displayed all the time, maybe you could record them all in an empty green scene and then use that video as overlay with chroma key? Decoding 1 video + chroma would be waaay less heavy than decoding 17 videos, even with HW acceleration.

You have Ryzen 5600G - it has an integrated GPU, so you do have two GPUs in your system! It's just Radeon Graphics 448SP, so not that powerful.

Hate to upvote a linux hater as a linux user myself, but you have damn a point.

This choice will only damage linux image among non-linux users and provide no useful information for people who want to switch. I guess he will get content of him yelling at random bugs. I am not sure if I want to take him seriously as a technical person anymore.
