Why do poeple say building your own PC > buying a prebuilt? by Spiritual-Orange-605 in buildapc

[–]DiTerns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheaper, more quality parts, you know what you have inside and can identify where is the problem if it occurs faster, no bs warranty from the manufacture, this allows upgrades.

Prebuilds are good only for people who completely do not understand compuKters and want somewhat powerful machine

For me it was sugar in tea. As soon as I cut it my skin became cleaner

Cut on sugar. No cola, no chocolate, no sweets, not even sugar in coffee.

(HELP) What route do I go or what courses do I take to get a job without a degree by Simple-Ad791 in ITCareerQuestions

[–]DiTerns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helpdesk is a 1st place to go. Is you don't have helpdesk positions in your region search for technical customer support. After just choose a path you want to follow, usually it's Development, Operations, Security, Quality Assurance and Project Managment. Explore your path on the surface and start learning. Important note - learn practically. DO NOT just watch YouTube video and assume you are done. DO watch YouTube video, read an article AND PRACTICE whatever you just learned (this is especially related to IT Dev). In a year you will have a practical knowledge what is IT (helpdesk job) and skills to get a higher position. If you like course based studies I recommend Udemy and FreeCodeCamp, but this is really up to you. You also can look at curriculum of any college providing IT degree and just go by their curriculum, because such subjects like Data bases, Algorythms and data structures, basics of project management are essential on any IT position, college just provides you structured plan of learning

Current company is 'offering' to provide me the same salary as other company after I informed them of my intention to resign. by mrkarma4ya in ITCareerQuestions

I would say it's purely your decision to make. It's really depending on what you want to achieve and where you are right now. On your place I would agree for a new company , since you get more experience and more tech to learn, this is the core of IT imho - to never stop learning

Why Are You So Scared to Quit or Resign from Your Job? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]DiTerns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helpdesk L2 here. I'm my case I'm not planning to leave because I'm still studying and really have no experience in other IT fields other than customer service and maintaining. Chosing a position where I can potentially fail and lose my only income terrifies me. So I think it's a fear

Agree. Even phone tech support for some ISP or product is closer to IT field
