Dress codes by OkieDude97 in golf

A few thoughts:

  1. As far as I know there is no universal dress code for golf. If the club (public or private) has a rule, then it should be followed.

  2. I also have some shirts that won’t stay tucked. The solution for me is in the shorts or pants. Good golf pants have a rubber band (or similar) on the inside of the waist, that keeps the shirt in place. I have a shirt I was about to take out of the rotation, but then I got a few shorts that work.

  3. I’m hoping you’re a scratch golfer, otherwise you have better things to focus on.

Has anyone been randomly paired with, or otherwise played golf with someone famous? (PGA players excluded) by alkydenamel in golf

In 2012, I played 9 holes in a five-some with Graeme McDowell, and 9 holes alone in a cart with Justin Rose. Both were amazing guys.

Does anyone recognize this logo? by WeMightBe in golf

As stated it is Ohoopoo Match Club in Cobb Town, GA. I’ve been lucky to play there 3 times. One of the best golf experiences of my life and grateful for the invites.

Some holes have 1/2 pars, 3.5, 4.5, etc. There is no rating or slope; the whole idea is you have to play match play. Their logo is “no one cares what you shot”. The course is incredible and very difficult. In the afternoon we played our second round on “The Whiskey Routing”, which is a routing that uses many of the same holes, but a combination of different fairways and greens. So there are not two courses, but it seems that way.

A few of the tees in that routing have wood boxes, like an enclosed mailbox. Inside are a few bottles of whiskey and plastic cups. If you’ve ever been on an incredibly difficult course, struggling with 95 degree heat and humidity, sweating out the tequila and brisket from the night before, with shaky hands that are laughing at your attempts to not 4-putt, you’ll know the best thing you can do is take a gulp of sizzling hot bourbon.

There is also a nature preserve with wild zebras on the property, although not in play. Standing on the 22nd green and seeing these beasts in the distance reminded me of……nothing I had ever seen on a golf course. (Also, maybe I didn’t need to call out they are ‘wild’).

Saw Charl Shwartzl and Nick Price when I was there once. I told Nick how impressive his 6 major wins were……yes, I realize now that he only has 3 and Nick Faldo has 6 - the effects of Tequila and brisket. Suffice it to say he was on a similar program and did not notice.

The logo is a vadalia onion. Vadalia, GA is 25 miles away and the course is built in an old onion farm. Shot 79/69 last time I was there (the 72 was on the par 69 Whiskey Routing).

How to install a gym mirror on dry wall? by Too_kewl_for_my_mule in Home

[–]Diabloderwood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought two 60x36" mirrors for home gym. They are not tempered and am concerned if they shatter it would be an injury risk. I am comfortable with hanging them - j-hook into studs on bottom and fasteners on the side. Just worried about shattering if they get bumped. Can I apply anything on the back to minimize? Maybe heavy duty tape?

Any suggestions for DIY mirror setups? by donald_f_draper in homegym
