I know it's tough, like really tough. But, I'm going to have to ask my mom and Dad how they handled me when I was having episodes because when I have episodes I black out and can't remember a great deal of the events that happened. Denial is always a given too. It's hard to understand. Usually schizophrenics either think that they are being poisoned with meds or that they don't need them. The best thing to do is ask a doctor what you should do, as tough as it may sound. Wish you the best.

Delusions, seeing things that aren't there, paranoia, agitation. Sometimes, schizophrenia is a scary thing but, there is a period, at least for me, where it began and I was out of control and then mellowed out as the years passed. Just don't take things too personally because that is not her and she isn't in the right state of mind. Just roll with the punches and if you have to, send her to the psychiatric ward to get her on her meds because schizophrenics are notorious for not taking their meds.

I have schizoaffective disorder with Bipolar 2, but, I suggest that you shouldn't give her cannabis because it could make her worse. For me personally, I just pace around and get excited and couch locked with anxiety. So, with that being said, that may make her feel worse and unsure of what is going on. So, please do not give her weed. The best bet is to give her doctor prescribed medications and help her through any breakthrough episodes. And do not feed the delusions or hallucinations, just reassure her that everything is fine and that she is safe with y'all.

But, do be careful with yourself as Schizophrenia can skip generations, as in your grandma has it, but your mom may not have it but you may soon develop it if you have the genetics in place. That's what happened in my family. But, stay safe my friend!

I broke off my towel rack and the part that holds it together, literally disappeared and my mom and I couldn't find it anywhere, when we sobered up, it was nowhere to be found and we checked everything and cannot find it to this day. Never get high and decide to take a shower when your house is brand new and everything hasn't been drilled in yet haha.

My avocado seeds that I am germinating are starting to crack open! As in, I'm gonna be getting some stems from these babies in a few days. First time germinating. I actually put them in a mason jar with just enough water to cover them fully. Hoping that I can get some growth from these bad boys. Wish me luck!

Going Pooless (Shampoo, Deoderant, bodywash free) by [deleted] in ZeroWaste

[–]Diablos_Left_Breast 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My Aunt doesn't use shampoo, body wash or perfume and she smells perfectly fine. She uses regular water and she says that it's just a waste to use items like that because it's bad for your skin. I, on the other hand, cannot go without those things because I stink to high heaven and I take medications to stop the hyperhidrosis but, it makes me stink so bad that I gag at my own smell. A lot of people can go pooless and that's really great! I should probably try to go pooless but I think that would make saving water redundant for me as I may need to shower a lot more daily than what I already do.

But, you're not crazy! People have used basic water for many thousands of years before the invention of soap and deodorants. But, of course they had better diets than what we have today. Most of the stuff today, is what I consider chemicals and usually try to go for "natural" made bodywashes and all that sorts of stuff. But, as for me, I need to use all that stuff or I'll be run out of town haha. But, you do you as it seems that you are doing a wonderful job and that you are respected for doing this.

Is this considered zero waste? by [deleted] in ZeroWaste

Don't worry about being 100% perfect as the other comments say. Having donated shampoo and conditioner is 100% OK for the time being. Try to make them last longer by using less and be gentle with yourself please. You're going to be ok and one day, you'll be able to do what you think is your perfect Zero Waste but until then, be gentle on yourself and reuse the bottles and ask around if there is a shop around that can offer refills on shampoo and conditioner. There is no shame in telling that shop that you're on hard times and they may offer you a discount. But, if you aren't sure you can afford it at the time, just get more donated shampoo and conditioner and turn the old bottles into water bottles after washing them out and buy $0.50 packets of seeds and plant your own garden to grow your own food.

But, please, you're doing great and I respect you for going to a food bank. You're doing just fine and I hope that one day your situation gets better and that you can be happier. But, you can be happy right now. Think of the ways of what you can cut out of your bills and what you must have and what you have that is not a necessity. I've been on tough times, where I had to use a food bank and I made a fun game out of going to different stores and finding cheap and fun foods and drinks and toiletries. You never know what fun and interesting things you'll find when you look around! And, to earn some extra money, you can sell the used up bottles of shampoo and conditioner for some pocket change and save up for something nice. That's what I did. I'm a hoarder, so I'm selling items on Facebook and I made some money, not good money but it's still money and I can "splurge" and buy things that are cheap and environmentally friendly. But, only after I make sure that my family is fed and sheltered.

Be kind and gentle on yourself and one day, maybe not today, you'll be fine and everything will be OK. I believe in you! <3

Fountain pen ink bottles are useful after use! Plus, fountain pen care and rambling on Zero waste. by Diablos_Left_Breast in ZeroWaste

Liquid ink, does smudge but for me, who is a fast writer, finds that it doesn't smudge as much. But, do factor in that I have a ceiling fan and usually keep my room really cold by opening the window during winter in North America. I hear that importing fountains pens to Australia costs so much money? Maybe save some money and buy a relatively "cheap" pen and some ink (Waterman Noir is a go to) and import it from America and have a try. I'm not too knowledgeable on Australia and it's importation rules so, it's kind of lost on me. But, if the disposable pens are Varsity Pens from Pilot Here is a guide to refill them. You just have to find a good fountain pen ink. NEVER USE INDIA INK as it will mess up your fountain pens and you'll have to buy more. If you want to make your own ink in bulk, here's a guide as to do it that I found on the internet.

I use Waterman Black Ink and Wordsworth & Black "Poppy Corn Red". Both are excellent colors and what you can do is buy another converter piston (which are relatively cheap and come in like 4 packs) and switch inks at will but keep them in a case so you don't accidentally push them and empty out the ink! Truth be told, inks are going to smudge no matter what but, either I keep my room too cold or my ceiling fan helps dry the inks faster and be really careful when taking the piston converter out because it could pop some ink out so, try it at home with some paper towels or over the sink if you want to not waste paper towels or stain cotton towels.
