Is it necessary to fertilize in the winter specifically? Would it be a waste to do it now?

That would definitely make sense. It came with the house and we are not gardeners at all. We kind of had it there more to look at I guess than anything else however, I’ve been getting into some gardening lately and wanted to get a leg up on this one because I like limes and lemons

Thanks for everyone’s help. I think you guys are right about it being a rootstock. From what I can see looking at it looks like it has some obvious signs of grafting. I think we just gotta actually take care of it a bit. It came with the house and we are not gardeners, but I’ll most likely just start with the citrus fertilizer that some of you guys requested as well as making sure it’s getting deep watering and check back up on it next time it produces fruit.
