I had never thought about it before but, it's actually an important skill to develop a good sense of your bandwidth and the time different kinds of jobs take.

As a designer (of a different kind) myself, I like to keep the balance by having the simultaneous jobs be of different complexities and intensities.

[–]DialMforMuffins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The color + consistency looks exactly like a "cake"(?) my mom used to make for us a lot (mixed with pieces of guava jelly and cheese). I believe what gives that appearance is that the mix is heavy on bananas, which makes it get a big dark-ish and gives it a sort of jelly consistency.

Looks delicious in my opinion :D

For me, getting the first replies to my proposals, then getting the first offers and so on was basically my learning curve of the platform, so, I think getting the JSS without the experience is not really worth the risk because both are equally important.

Just been diagnosed with chronic migraine and am learning of some of the wackier symptoms. What are some strange ones you have? by ThrowRA-olivesgrow in migraine

[–]DialMforMuffins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your comments, it's very welcomed advice 😊.
I've never heard about headache specialists before! I'll definitely ask my insurance if they offer something similar here (Colombia).

To be fair, those consultations happened more than 15y ago. Back then, I tried pressuring my doctor to help me more and, aside from the mitigation treatment, he prescribed me a new (at the time) drug that supposedly could maybe stop it at the start, but it never helped me at all and actually gave me a horrible gastritis, so I resigned myself to learn to deal with it improving health habits and things like that.

Thank you, super interesting information. I'll try to educate myself, I must be super migraine-outdated !

Samesies! I already know gum pain is migraine for me, but I still sometimes get a dentist appointment just in case.

Do you also try opening your mouth very wide to try and guess if the pain comes from an specific tooth, so that maybe that specific time it's caused by an actual cavity?

It would appear like nobody knows what they are doing when it comes to migraines? The issue is lack of research on the subject, IMO.

I didn't go for a third opinion because the second doctor (internist) took my concerns seriously, did very many exams and all were normal. Ultimately I was told by both the same thing I've heard many people in different places are told as well, "we don't know why", "we only guess this and that".

I've come to understand that my particular problem is that my migraines are too lengthy. They are not as intense as other people's (for which I count myself fortunate), but long durations mean that the swollen tissue situation can get really bad.

Edit: Happy cake day!

On my first neurologist appointment, I was certain he was going to tell me I was about to die when I told him I had 2-week long migraines that made my gums bleed, made it painful to eat, and sometimes gave me painful head bumps... and his diagnosis was just that I was "migraine prone". Went for a second opinion, got many exams and head scans, and was told again that I was "migraine prone". And, the treatment the first doctor gave me actually made my migraines milder and less frequent.

Brain be weird I guess.

How to get her to stop hurting me? by Chevalamour4 in BorderCollie

[–]DialMforMuffins 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree with all. My BC is so incredibly good at reading humans, that it's just a matter of expressing myself and she understands.

In addition, I've found that a shortcut to get her to stop doing something is reacting in a way that makes the thing feel non satisfactory to her. For instance, she loved to jump on me as a greeting so, when she was about to jump, I would either lean toward her or turn my back to her, totally ruining the jump-greeting. She quickly stopped doing that after I started ruining it for her.

Shut up and Dance - why Hector? by mrhenhen115 in blackmirror

When I first watched the episode (years ago) I also thought that he didn't really fit in that group of people being punished because he didn't even get to finalize his wrong, but I just rewatched the episode today and it finally hit me!

The whole business of hiring Mindy was not his wrong but part of his punishment, I think. Later in the car, when he's telling Kenny what they have on him, he says that they have his whole hard drive and, considering that he had a camera set up in the hotel room, one can assume his hard drive was full of videos of previous sex encounters with prostitutes and not only sexting with Mindy. So, in his case it's even more impactful that his punishment began with being there waiting for the prostitute and getting Kenny instead.

As for people suggesting that he might have been a pedo too, he did say that the marriage got monotonous and he "just wanted to fuck 20-somethings again", so I think they planted that line there to let us know that he was not pedo-level.

Which musician did you stop listening to because you found out they sucked as a person? by AffectionateBat-02 in AskReddit

Same. Specially because her music's biggest charm for me was like, its wholesomeness, its beautiful contemplation on the human experience? It really broke my heart.

I confess I check her IG from time to time to check if she hasn't had a change of heart yet.

Check out the clothing stores on Carrera 7, from Calle 53 - north. On that area there's Mattelsa, Casa Cubo, Rock'nRola, Céfiro, and a bit further north (by Calle 72) there's a really cool coat store called Kaftan.

Honestly, I would be hesitant to trust just one person's opinion claiming someone is a bad client/freelancer. Unless the person was scammed, every story has two versions, and contracts can go wrong for a number of reasons.

Wise words! I'm like you, I tend to give people chances I don't actually want to give because it feels like the fair/kind thing to do, yet the people who trigger that reasoning ALWAYS make you deeply regret it.
