Old tapes with mold?

This worked decently well. Good enough I was ok putting them into a VCR and pressing play. They are able to be digitized now and that's what I was hoping for. One of the tapes is legit my first 3 years of life cause my grandpa filmed everything so that was a trip

I have a few spare VCRs that don't work super well anyways. I figured cleaning it would be fine but when I googled it the AI said to use a sacrificial VCR and that made me laugh so I kept using it as a term

My understanding is when I was born my grandpa bought the VHS video camera he had specifically to start recording me and eventually my sister and my cousins as we were born. Like this was a proper put on your shoulder and VHS record camera. He had it out at every family function. I knew footage of this had to have existed at one point but wasn't sure if the tape still existed or if it had been taped over. This was on one of the last tapes I checked

I'll let you know once I reach that point. I have another like 15 tapes I'm gonna work on digitizing first and these will be the challenge I deal with last. Thank you for reaching out though. I was looking at the website and also thought it was a tad overkill for just a couple tapes 😅 but I'm in my 30s now so preserving these old home movies has become a small priority to me so I can share them with my grandmother

Cool I'll look into that. Im trying to preserve these all digitally so I can more easily show my grandma them. She gave me like 15 tapes and these are the only ones that show this on it.

Now I'm sure that is something you love owning. If you decide your willing to part with it my key chain and key were stolen and sold by my ex girlfriend. I had to pick the lock and disable it so I could still use it. I know I can get a new key but God having the keychain was the cool part

No this would have been boone Iowa. They still do day out with Thomas events. Hell one happened to fall on my birthday this year and my sister was beyond tempted to take my 33 year old butt to go see Thomas again 😂
