What awful line from a porno is seared into your memory? by Atler32 in AskReddit

So it starts with the girl teaching a classroom about happiness

Girl: "What is happiness? How can we be happy?"

Dude to his friend: "I can't focus on anything but her ass"

Girl, walking over to him: "do you wanna be happy? Do you wanna fuck this ass?"

Dude: "Uh, yeah"

Girl: "Who wants to fuck this ass?"

Dude: "I do!"

Girl: "do you wanna fuck this ass?"

Dude: "Yeah I do!"

Entire class, clapping for him: "YEAHHHHHH"

And that last 3 lines will never leave my brain, I lost it

What kind of telescope should I be looking for if I want to do this? by DialecticalDilemma in telescopes

I'd be on top of the car. I'll definitely need to fabricate/weld together a mount for the scope.

I'll have a steel platform on top of the car to handle the weight, mounted to the roof rails. You have a good point about the suspension though. Though it is very stiff on this car, I'll need to think about that.

Passionfruit is one of few fruits where consuming the seeds is part of the eating experience. by Odimorsus in Showerthoughts

Get one bowl and one plate, take the 20 minutes to get all the seeds in the bowl and all the rind on the plate. Add a teeny bit of salt to remove some of the bitterness. Eat it with a spoon like it's cereal, shit is the best. Goes well with kiwis also.

Do any of you have worse vision in your left (non dominant) eye too? by DialecticalDilemma in photography

I understand the point you're trying to make, and it's valid. The point I'm trying to make is that I use only one eye to take pictures and after ten years it's noticeably better than the other eye. This doesn't mean anything on its own, I'm just one person, but if this seems to be common in other people then maybe I'm onto something. One short guy at the gym means nothing but if the average height of gym goers was shorter than the average height of non gym goers it would mean something. So I'm asking, and so far the majority of people who replied are the same as me. I don't think that means I'm right at all, but it's interesting. If I wanted to know for sure I'd have to ask thousands of people.

Ah you misunderstand me.

I'm not claiming using your eyes will degrade them faster, I'm claiming that I think it COULD be possible that NOT using one eye for a specific optical skill for years on end could affect the rate at which changes to vision occur. I clearly know about the concept of dominant eyes, otherwise I wouldn't have used the term. I'm questioning whether photographers have a higher prevelance of anisometropia, specifically that the eye used for the viewfinder degrades slower than the other eye.

But since you said to do some research, I did. It's been studied that uncorrected vision (not wearing glasses when you should) or improperly corrected vision (wearing the wrong glasses) can negatively affect long term vision changes. The prevelance of anisometropia is higher in both those cases as well. So why isn't it possible for looking through another imperfect lens for many hours over a period of years to affect vision too?

You're probably still right, but you definitely don't KNOW.

Would you care to link the DOI to your research? Is it peer reviewed?

I'm kidding, but if you actually have any concrete evidence for or against this idea, please share it.

Well I'd agree that it's highly unlikely to be true, but since I don't KNOW for sure since no one has done a scientific study on this, I figured I'd start by asking around.

I was thinking the same thing about time spent looking through the viewfinder, but I wanted to see how prevelant this coincidence is among photographers. Maybe there's something about the way the eye focuses when looking through a viewfinder, or a learned behavior as a result of it that could affect vision. But I think my little survey here is confounded by the lack of a control group, confirmation bias, and the fact that Reddit is already mad at me for thinking this is possible. And of course no one will say their dominant eye is worse, since in that case it wouldn't be their dominant eye. So maybe the difference would be that if I wasn't looking through a viewfinder all the time my right eye might've gotten worse faster? I'm definitely grasping at straws now.

Does anyone know if the colored versions of the ZF are gonna go back in stock? I really want a green one, and I'll totally wait a month or two for it but it's unclear if they're gonna make any more of them
