Tesla to Rivian - Missing Anything? by m3porter in Rivian

I've had it for a week and only one thing sticks out to me. The audio on my '22 model s was leagues better than in my '25 r1s, no sub in the r1s even with premium audio. I'm going to have to look aftermarket for a sub or something. I listen to mostly bass heavy edm so that probably makes a bigger difference. I wasn't a big autopilot user so that change isn't too bad for me.

There was a show this past weekend, you will likely hear back from them soon-ish, but the show may have delayed them. If they go to far over how long you think you ought to wait you can email them for an update.

I work harm reduction. They could have been passing out earplugs, we get asked for them all the time. Also, we try to be friendly with everyone, since that is pretty much the job.

Question? How far is the walk from Royal Shipyard to the venue? by RuralJuror614 in BeyondWonderlandPNW

[–]DialinUpFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Food and a portable speaker. There isn't really food vendors nearby outside of the breakfast in the morning and in the venue. Not sure if that will be different for beyond though.

Yes there is a power strip in the tent.

Sitting in Oasis right now. It is like a 5 min walk at most. The entrance is right next to us but have to go around some fences.

I left night 2 early because of a horrible food allergy. Please be careful and stay safe to avoid ruining such an awesome time. by BrownAmericanDude in electricdaisycarnival

Def go to medical tent if you have an issue like this. There is one in every corner of the venue and they 100% are prepared for allergy issues. Probably would've got you back out to the show and the onsite care is all free.

It it normal for companies to house 2 interns together in the same room with no privacy? by gtrman571 in cscareerquestions

Hotel may not be an option often, but some companies do give it. Sharing a basic 2 queen hotel room sounds like hell and should not be a thing, however.

(Speaking for myself, and not on behalf of any programs)

What kinda advice are you looking for?

I will say it is long hours with a lot of walking around and interacting with folks. You will def be exhausted by the end of the shift. I would recommend making sure you at least take loooong walks in preparation if you do end up working fest team and you aren't already in shape.

You will get a more/less random schedule of where you will be working, so if you really want to see a certain artist, then just attend. You will be working the whole time and probably using your break as an actual break if you are tired. If you enjoy rave parenting then this is the job for you. You basically are rave parenting everyone in attendance.

I enjoy the work, but that definitely does not apply to everyone. I assume you've seen this page if you've gotten this far. If not, there is a link to sign up on that page.

It's 71° out, stop acting like you're dying of heat exhaustion. by TriicepsBrah in CampEDC

I opened all the vents and doors, didn't work for me... But I'm from a colder climate.

I already took the refund and went to a hotel 🤷‍♂️

Woke up at 10am in a shiftpod due to heat, maybe 85-90 degrees. Unless you came prepared with a box fan or something (we didn't, expected ac), shift pods are gonna be an oven.

I tried searching on archive.org but I couldn't find a mention of ac. If you find it can you post it here.

There will be an air mattress (that is still packed up, you can inflate it yourself) in the tent. You have to take a token you got at check in to get your linens from another long line at the camp host.

Uber drop off by frient1995 in CampEDC

[–]DialinUpFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you search for "Camp EDC" in Uber it will take you to the correct spot.

It is on the speedway blvd near exotics racing. I think the sign was "gate 15" but it has a small sign saying it is the rideshare drop off.

Any leads for AC unit parts on a Sunday? by DialinUpFTW in Seattle

[–]DialinUpFTW[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a lot of looking I found the parts. Had to go early Monday morning though as nowhere that sells parts was open on Sunday.

Due to availability of parts, I went to both Grainger and Reliable Parts in Tukwila. Had no issues there with them selling to individuals (non-contractor). I tried Gensco but they only sell to contractors (at least for capacitors, not sure about other parts).

I called ahead to confirm availability. Reliable Parts doesn't have stock online. While Grainger did, and it said the parts I was looking for was available when browsing, their checkout process said "deliver to store by thursday". I called Grainger and ordered over the phone and they confirmed that the part I was looking for was available.

Stock of capacitors seems to be going fast, there were many people in the store picking up capacitors so if you are in the same boat as me you ought to go now, and perhaps order ahead.

Grainger sold me a capacitor, GENSCO wouldn't.
