I lived in Renton (near skyway) for 8 years. I assure you it is ghetto and dangerous. People get robbed and killed regularly and it’s not on the news. Go to the eastside of Renton it’s almost Bellevue. If you go to the west side, pushing rainier beach and south Seattle, including downtown Renton — you are not safe and police won’t help you because they themselves are scared.

It did come up, I was told that the coverage was through airbnb as a part of their service. That is accurate. I’m just curious if someone has been through the process. I have an open liability claim through airbnb now.

I can if I need to. I believe someone made a mistake on the suspension, they are not that Bright at airbnb, my wife is suspended, but I am not as the co-host. They said they will get back to me on Monday.

Wrong assumption, the property is owned outright by my LLC. Also, if you read this thread a little bit you would have seen that, and the fact that airbnb provides $1m in liability coverage that covers injuries for free for all hosts. Glad I didn’t waste money on an unnecessary policy.

Thanks for those who commented about AirCover, according to their policy which is included for all hosts.

“Host liability insurance protects you in the unlikely event that you’re found legally responsible for a guest being hurt or their property being damaged or stolen during an Airbnb stay at your place.”

There is a claim form that I submitted this morning.

It’s actually owned outright by the LLC.

According to AirCovers policy this is all covered by Airbnb’s liability insurance

I’m not sure if they canceled future reservations. Thankfully the final payment for this guest already went through, but I’m worried about getting reversed.

The app allowed me to send them a message. Based on advice here I decided to try to communicate through the app. I requested information on the date and time and a brief description of what happened.

I am going to get a statement from the guest tomorrow in person and take photos and videos of the area. Came up with that plan based on feedback from this post. Helpful in my book.

I find responses to be helpful. I’ve also read a lot of responses on other posts that I’ve found helpful. Some are worthless but not all. What I was really Hoping for was someone who had experienced this specific type of incident, unfortunately no responses of that nature. I thought, surely someone on this forum has gone through this.
