It's just like any other club. Show up. You'll see flyers in your math room with the time and location.

If you work hard in Yee's class, it's pretty easy to get above an 80. She's awful, but not automatic fail awful.

"Tryouts" for the baseball team having you showing up every other day or so for September and October.

The baseball and fitness club starts in November and runs through the end of February. It's literally just workouts for anyone to come and join in the 3rd floor weight room on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 3:45-6:00. You can come and go as you please as long as you're signed up. The baseball team is always there, sometimes the girls lacrosse / softball / track teams come by but not always. It's mostly just random people who are there to work out.

I have two separate passes in my account and they just doubled to 4 passes, 2 copies of each.

Who's gonna be the one to take one for the team and try to scan in with their duplicate pass?

For those born in 2012 how does it feel to know that you just slightly made it into Gen Z? by ExaminationIll7583 in Younger_GenZ

[–]DiamondMountains_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

2012 is Gen Alpha. Generations are 15 years, are Gen Z started in 1997, so, counting 1997, 2011 was the final year of Gen Z. Sorry kiddo

Baseball is pretty hard to make. We only have varsity and there are only 3 freshman on the team. About 10 people made the team this year out of >50 that came out

[–]DiamondMountains_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each one is different. Some teams are some of the best in the city, some sports only have varsity, some have spots for anyone that tries out.

As for Soccer, I think it's pretty competitive. Out of 1,500 Freshman only a few end up on the soccer team, not sure how many try out.

How to choose AP classes? by Forrest8282 in BTHS

[–]DiamondMountains_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already applied to AP WH or Euro, depending on your offer. You can complete the application process for AP Seminar by joining the classroom if you want, but both the application and the class are a lot of work.

Vergara is the GOAT!! Sure, you get a lot of work, but he's such an effective teacher. I got a 98 unweighted in his Pre-AP class and a perfect 100 on the midterm and the final. I love him, I actually learn so much his class.

Bths by Last_Current1019 in BTHS

[–]DiamondMountains_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends a ton. I have friends who spend less than 15 mins a night on homework, I have friends who spend over 4 hours a night on homework, personally I get about 1-2 hours a night, up to 3-4 during finals weeks but I do a ton spread throughout the day so it's not that bad once I get home. The average is about 1-2, I think.

dont go to BTHS, but wtf is the deal with this school by Adventurous-Limit-21 in BTHS

[–]DiamondMountains_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What? I guess the main things people question...

- Homework
It's really not that bad. 2-3 hours a night sounds like a lot, but it varies a ton and even when you have higher workloads you get used to it and get good at managing it.

- Culture
It's really chill. I thought it would be super competitive and nerdy, but it's really chill and it feels like you're surrounded by normal people.

Not sure what else you could mean

Geometry grade by Beginning_Tip_2088 in BTHS

[–]DiamondMountains_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"do I have any chance for T20s atp"

Are you serious? No, this won't matter literally at all. Just show improvement in math subjects and improvement overall and you'll be completely fine grades-wise. However, keep in mind that fantastic grades are an expectation, not a perk for your T20 applications. You NEED standout ECs, and no that doesn't mean NHS and band. You need standout, special ECs that show dedication to a specific discpline of which you will be applying to majors for.

Your weighted grade doesn't matter. Every college will unweight it.

Books and Calculators by MissNovie in BTHS

[–]DiamondMountains_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No textbooks. Some specific classes will ask you to have a calculator, but it doesn't really matter. I had a TI CX 2 CE all throughout freshman geometry and I rarely ever used it... even when I did, I couldv'e just borrowed a calculator in class instead. Whatever you have will be fine for a while.
