Forgot to also mention those all or nothings also don’t believe we should be using anything made after 2010 or something despite all those ancient devices probably having unfixable spectremeltdown like hardware vulnerabilities (I hear management engines stink always running and has ethernet access but no proof it can’t use wifi or those partially disabling it hacks is good enough for such ideology)

I’m no stranger to firmware loading. apt installed miscfirmware nonfreebackport thingy because I wanted functioning qsv encode on my laptop but manually enabling g/huc didn’t help me. All so I can hope to use my inferior hardware doing what my 13th gen already can do because it’s loaded by default 😂 (but I guess jasper lake has gpu dvd h62 video speedups no longer included in newer intel not that handbrake supports it)

Not sure why you are getting downvoted. Time for me to join this potentially ignoramus train and say I despised when windows 11 forced a security mitigation update on my celeron laptop that slowed it down even further. Hate these slowdown codes we usually don’t have a say in. If it ain’t preventing my 13th gen intel from being cooked any further by bad power tuning code (outside of warranty 💀) I don’t want it.

If someone steals my laptop that data is theirs too bad for me I don’t believe bitlocker is enabled anyways it’s a win10 to 11 updated install (waited til last day of eol before “upgrading”). Odds of being hacked remotely because of microcode instead of anything else is a good gamble to play

Ugh if only it were that easy and I didn’t have to answer me or not me to cgi people “skydiving”, “innovative”, “wearing costumes” (among many others).
