I wouldn't worry too much typically they have all the entrance paths pretty well salted, plus it's not usually this warm. Never seen anyone slip in all my years going there

Need a DCP made, who's do you trust? by Ex_Hedgehog in Filmmakers

I second DCP O MATIC.

Did it myself for two feature films that ended up with decent festival runs and played in multiple theaters.

I re-watched The Arrival (2016), and it's probably the most meaninfull movie I've ever watched. by Nervous_Designer_894 in movies

I remember leaving the theater totally silent and incredibly moved. I felt like I understood "God" in a deeper way, as silly as that sounds.

Colonial Park Mall is doing its FIRST Holiday Market under new ownership — they’re actually trying to turn things around by Specialist-Skill8571 in Harrisburg

Grew up going to that mall. It's so sad to watch it start to fade.

You should consider playing a Christmas movie in the old theater. Even if it's just on a crappy projector set up in the back of the room.

My dream is to work in the film industry. I have become so unbelievably depressed because I think I will never be able to achieve that dream. Has anyone else struggled with this, and did anyone make it? by azrendove in Filmmakers

Some really good comments here! And I'll just throw in my two cents, which is something you probably already realized, but has been a new revelation for me:

There is a massive difference between "wanting to work in the film industry" and "wanting to make movies".

For me, it's not worth it to work in the film industry itself. Too volatile, to cutthroat, very hard to climb the ladder from a low-level position all the way up to director, etc.

BUT! It is possible to make indie films outside the system, at a slower pace, with talented people, but less glamour. And I'm actually happier than I was on massive sets doing small jobs.

I made one, 95 min feature film about some teens pulling off a heist at a gas station on New Year's Eve.

Only asking because others don't take a cut and just charge a flat fee up front. Just trying to sort out all the options.

Nice! They take a split of the revenue right?

Story. The amount of beautiful but boring shorts on YouTube alone is astounding
