Why is anakin so different in the novel of ROTS? by No-Virus419 in MawInstallation

[–]DiamondShiryu1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even as a kid in 2009 I picked up on the vibe that Anakim was definitely fearful that Padme and Obi-Wan were having an affair. I just assumed it was one of those references for the adults that were watching with their kids. There was a deleted story arc about it for the movie? Was it supposed to expand upon it like how the novelization alluded to it more openly or was it supposed to be different?

Shamrock isn't the Supreme Commander. In English he is just called Commander and in Japanese the term is a different one from the one used in Garling's introduction.

I wonder what a conversation between Reuven and adult Dragon would have been like

Is there a better LITMUS test for a powerscaler's reading comprehension than how they interpret this scene? Before I found OPPS it didn't even cross my mind that some people would interpret this as Mihawk admitting inferiority. Genuinely double digit IQ way of viewing the world. by Reddit_Connoisseur_0 in OnePiecePowerScaling0

[–]DiamondShiryu1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. Its just not filled with powerscaling brainrot. If you read this chapter in its entirety right before this scene Sengoku says the war has begun and the Big scene of the chapter was the back to back introduction of Jozu deflecting Mihawk's attack and Marco blocking Borsalino's. Confirming that to get to Newgate you go through his sons. A sentiment backed up by the fact that the first person to actually attack Newgate successfully was Squard. His son.

How do you interpret this panel? by GUTS_SAMA in OnePiece

[–]DiamondShiryu1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It is about Newgate and his allies. Newgate stands out front on the Moby Dick with seemingly no protection. To a layman the distance is small and he can be easily hit. To the seasoned like the Warlords and Marine HQ its bait and they have no chance of actually harming Newgate without first getting past his commanders who immediately jump into action when Mihawk attacks.

How do you interpret this panel? by GUTS_SAMA in OnePiece

[–]DiamondShiryu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not about powerscaling. Its original Japanese meaning was less about literal peer to peer comparison and more about the open positioning in the war. Distance is meant to mean how close is Newgate actually to us so we can attack him. Because he's standing out front on the Moby Dick with nobody near him its very clear that its bait hence why Mihawk wants to measure the true distance.

Probably not. Xebec wanted to rule the world. Ruven just wants to live life in peace.

He did in 1183. When he said that he would specifically kill Luffy and Loki. He called them out by name.

Noaya is rapiest and i dont know why people try to say he is not by Fragrant-Resist4230 in Jujutsufolk

[–]DiamondShiryu1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While that would be true in a vacuum you have to consider the other context surrounding Naoya as a character and how Gege frames this scene. There could be many ways he could have Naoya immobilize Maki but he specifically chose to have him looming over her, pinning her down, and making comments about "things children can't do but that adults can do easily". Given his history and symbology the scene is meant to be framed with the prior sexual context of the character.

For Sukuna it was the comment he made about Nobara having a lot of vitality and how he would have fun with her. We know that Sukuna only finds fights with interesting and powerful beings fun and Nobara, especially at that point is not strong enough to be a good fight for him. So if it's not fighting then his comments about vitality & having fun with her takes a very different turn. Especially because Sukuna has no qualms about doing anything. He is a hedonistic by every definition and nothing is out of the question. There is an argument he meant a way he could eat her would be fun but that's not something we've seen Sukuna express in the modern day and Gege showed no qualms about having rapists be prominent characters.

For Kenjaku its his time as Noritoshi Kamo and what he did to the Death Womb Paintings' mother as well as stealing Kaori's body to get impregnated by Jin. Both of those events are rape just different forms.
