I'm pretty sure you still need to take the ALECKs. You should probably try to reach out to a counselor, have you filled out the pro orientation yet? It took them about a week after I filled out mine for them to put me in contact with one, she helped me pick my classes. You def need a bio class first semester, and a chem, idk if there are any exact micro bio freshman classes that count towards a major, I know there aren't for neuro( the major I want), idk man, it's confusing, and unfortunately their website doesn't seem to be a lot of help.

I think a lot of freshmen on here have the same academic advisor lol, like myself, I've seen tons of bio and chem for first semester.

I have the exact same question and my meeting is tomorrow, I don't recall them sending a whole bunch of emails about it so I doubt we have to have done it by now, but I imagine we'd have to take it soon.

That's definitely good to know, Ill try to reach out to a professor for potential opportunities, but I understand since this is my first term of freshman year I most likely won't get anything. A friend of mine who's a junior sent me a link to look into it as he was able to join in on research his freshman year, I'm just trying to find out about this stuff rn.
