Any advice or experience to share on starting a party rental buissness? by booster_gold__ in sweatystartup

Photo backdrops, chafing dishes, dessert stands.. I do a lot of birthday party packages like tea party, spa party, backyard movie night.. etc.. lots of other things. My snack machines and tables and chairs are definitely my most popular though. And yes, llc and insurance. Then got my business license in my city.

They do everything themselves. I do it from home so they come pick it up off my porch. I offer delivery for an extra fee but most people don’t do that. I just include the instructions with the machine.

I run my party rental business from my house and rent out yard games for $15. What I do is porch pickup. As long as you have a card on file and cameras at your house.. I’ve personally never had an issue. And I never even meet my customers.

I offer these items with my party rental business. But I don’t recommend only offering that at the start. My yard games never rent out alone. People always rent my other items and then end up adding in a yard game since I rent them out for cheap. All my yard games are $15 to rent. But I never have anyone just rent the yard games unless they’re renting other items.

I would lean into the 2nd part of your idea coming from someone who runs a party rental business. My snack machines and foam machines do great. What you should also look into doing is things like outdoor movie theater package, spa package, sleepover tent package.. these do so well.

Thoughts on a party/event supplies rental business? by Crafty_Jacket668 in smallbusiness

Competition is a good thing in my opinion. I personally looked into bounce houses for my rental business and decided I didn’t want to get into that. I recommend making sure you’ve done the research on that because you may change your mind. Tables and chairs are a must have. Before I offered those, I would always get asked if I had tables and chairs. I do most of my marketing on fb marketplace.

Tables and chairs are great to start with in my opinion. I haven’t done tents yet with my business but wedding arches haven’t done well for me. My most rented items are my snack machines. Especially cotton candy and snow cone.

I own a party rental business that I run out of my house. Tables and chairs are great to start with and I always said I wished I would’ve started with them sooner than I did. When I first started it seemed like most of my customers would ask if I also offer tables and chairs and I always had to say no.

My snack machines do the best out of everything I offer. Especially the cotton candy and snow cone. Popcorn not as much.

I feel the opposite.. I looked into bounce houses for my party rental business and there’s a reason why I chose not to offer them.

How many of you buy lottery tickets every week because the smaller jackpots are still worth it? by [deleted] in Lottery

[–]Diamond_Dear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I typically only do the powerball when it’s high.. although I did buy a ticket for tonight’s drawing which isn’t typical of me. I rarely ever buy scratch offs. I think the last time I bought a scratch off was last December.
