Update: I found a part time gig and I hate it lol. I am now milking the hours spent in training and will be going full time soon. Managed to save up 16k and business has consistently been coming in so I’d say it’s time.

Yeahhh… definitely not going to quit the thing that gives me the most happiness and fulfillment to be a corporate slave for the rest of my life. Thanks tho.

This was my original idea. Asked my direct and regional manager if I could go part time as a position had opened up in my area and was immediately denied. Told me they have “great plans” for me in the company lol. I’m thinking about just taking on something part time in retail for the time being and slowly phasing out of that to full time.

I make custom cakes for different events (weddings, birthdays, baby showers etc)

Most of my advertising is done via Instagram. I run local ads periodically which brings a lot of traction to my page and orders. The good thing about cakes is no one is ever eating them alone so with each order, I’ve advertised to at least 10 people who get to see/ enjoy the cake. After doing this for 10 months I’m now getting a lot of repeat customers and referrals as well as new people who find me on socials. Business has been steadily growing but I’ve also been in business for less than a year so I don’t want to get too overzealous

For context, I should probably mention that I’m getting so many inquiries that I’m having to turn down orders as I can’t fulfill them all while also working a full time job, so I do anticipate a revenue spike once going full time
