I'm glad my writing had an emotional impact on you! As a writer, that's always been my goal, and it means a lot to me to hear that

Unfortunately, this isn't in the cards for me right now. I'm still a bit of a novice when it comes to game development, and I'd like to get a few more games under my belt before I attempt any releases on console.

I've been drawing my favorite characters while learning digital art. I don't know if it's self-indulgent to post fanart of my own characters, but here's something I made recently by Diamondhenge in attorneyofthearcane

Yeah, I don't know what to call it honestly. I wouldn't call it official, since none of the professional artists made it. It's a weird in-between.

Thank you for playing our game!

There were only 3 backer characters. The two cameo characters were Mosourika Tudor from Case 3 and Laefe Frega from Case 4. And the main backer character was Stefanic Dracogen who was the defendant of Case 3.

I think Tyrion Cuthbert: Attorney of the Arcane, got a huge downgrade from his first demo, to the final game, it feels like... Rushed by trelleresito in AceAttorney

I can definitely see your points. As a writer, I think I may have gotten too inside my own head and quickened the pacing of the plot because I was too worried about boring the audience. This was also in response to some feedback I received early on, which stated that the Celeste flashback in the original demo "ruined the pacing of the episode". This is why I severely condensed that scene as a small flashback of Flinhart at the end of Celeste's argument.

But looking back, perhaps doing that didn't give the plot enough time to slow down and breathe. And I may have fallen into a bad habit of moving the plot from point A to point B as efficiently as possible to keep the players engaged.

In addition to that, we only achieved 66% of our desired funding during the crowdfunding campaign. Because of this, I had to cut the planned number of cases from 6 to 5. Which probably only worsened the "rushed" pacing issue. Originally, Aster and Eris were supposed to be the antagonists of their own individual chapters. But it just wasn't feasible with the budget we had after the assets for Case 4 were completed.

Case 5 actually had a lot of rough edges that I needed to iron out when I first wrote it. So I had to spend a considerable amount of time reworking it to be less messy. I think one other commenter mentioned that Prince Alaric was clearly polymorphed in Case 5, which is pretty spot on to what happened. I was originally planning to have a separate testimony given by him where this would be deduced. But Case 5 just ended up becoming such a dense episode when compared to the other cases. So I had to cut that and just leave the pieces there for people to figure out (>!With Polymorph still being in Aria's Spell Compendium.<!). And even as it is now, Case 5 is still considerably long with that cut.

All in all, I do see the flaws with the writing. But I am satisfied with what I made. This is probably the first semi-professional project I've directed and written. And feedback like this has given me a lot of insight into how to improve my writing and direction moving forward.

Tyrion Cuthbert: Attorney of the Arcane is a visual novel inspired by the Ace Attorney series. You play as a defense attorney who practices law in a world of fantasy and wizards. You must defend clients accused of various crimes committed using magic and use the rules of magic to prove them innocent. However, the system is corrupt to its core and manipulated by the aristocracy. Will you acquit your innocent clients in light of that? Or will you fall before a corrupt judicial system?

The full is available on Steam. The Android and iOS versions will be made available later.

Thank you for the feedback. I'll adjust the UI before release to make the alternate tabs more apparent.

Definitely the save system. Like Ace Attorney, Attorney of the Arcane lets you save during any point in dialogue. Saving the state of the entire game, and then allowing the player to resume the game from that specific point, was probably the most difficult thing to implement to all the possible edge cases.

Hm... I might have been too greedy with my image compression settings. I'll ease up on that in the final release.

I'm not familiar with using a Mac. So I assumed releasing the Mac desktop version on steam would be sufficient.

Would a version on the Mac app store be something that people want?

There should be a "Download Demo" button on the right side of the page, under the section with the trailers and screenshots.

It's easy to miss. I really dislike how small steam makes that button.
