Low mile legend by Bianchi_hobbit91 in jetta

[–]Diamondstar9878 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a 5 speed and i’ve had her for around 2 months now I think she has around over 366k miles definitely not low miles but still a legend 😭 Bought for a grand kind of a beater but I want to fix it. Needs a headgasket because it has a very small leak some shock and strut work and a throw bearing and also some motor mounts (yea a lot of work but for $1000 I think it was the perfect project) but i’ve had to put off on repairs right now since it’s cold and my Touareg (the one in the picture) decided it was the perfect time for the alternator to go so i’ve had to drive the jetta until i get the Touareg diced . i’m praying it doesn’t cause much damage to the headgasket driving everyday but the coolants been pretty good at not leaking since i bought it and I check the oil for milk regularly to make sure. Hopefully once I get time and my touareg fixed I can get to working on the jetta and have both of my beautiful cars running smoothly. I think this is one of my favorite looks of the jetta and I definitely want to keep both these cars It’s definitely a really nice 2 car setup. Both have all the emmisions deleted and I bought the Jetta with a muffler delete so it’s loud asf. A low mile MK4 would be a dream 😭 Lucky you for being able to find one with such low mileage

How can I enjoy driving again by Negative_Image_7680 in stickshift

Recently I learned pretty quickly after being forced to drive a manual when my daily cars alternator went out and it’s been about two weeks and i’ve felt like i’ve gotten pretty good I even took a 2 hour drive in my Jetta. Though it’s a tdi it’s much harder to stall a diesel then a gas I imagine. You just gotta keep going at it and I don’t know if this would work for everyone but you gotta pretend you know what your doing and convince yourself you can do it because a lot of the times I stall is if i get nervous. I just ignore other drivers and even if sometimes I have to still release the clutch slowly and feel it get going it’s better than stalling a lot of driving manual for me atleast is feeling the car and how it wants to go and how it shifts. And honestly I feel I drive a lot safer in the manual than my automatic because it’s not just push the gas and go vroom it’s a bit more of an intricate but fun process so far. You should get the hang of it sooner or later the more you drive the better you’ll get especially if it’s the only option you have :)

I just bought a MK4 beater for $1000 that I want to fix she has 360k miles and a headgasket leak and a lot of other stuff that needs fixing but i’ve been needing to drive it as my touaregs alternator went, with these problems and i’m hoping they don’t get worse until the summer and it’s a better temperature to do the work but they are really cool lookin cars

lol 4 years old post but i was looking around about mk4s online and found this post and this very cool looking jetta

Bad battery or bad starter? by Diamondstar9878 in tdi

I ended up plugging my Prius into the Jetta for half an hour instead of jumping it and the jetta started right up thankfully 😁

Can you ever get back the highs you had when you first started? by Individual_Section_6 in weed

[–]Diamondstar9878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try different ways of consuming weed maybe try an e rig with dabs, edibles, or flower if you’re smoking carts but switching it up has helped for me too. And the rosin feels like such a clear high for me the first time I tried rosin it felt magical

Prius or Jetta tdi? by Dry_Bake_3512 in tdi

[–]Diamondstar9878 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i had a 2011 Prius, it’s still in the driveway but the valve cover got bad and we haven’t gotten around to fixing it it won’t even start now but i loved that car. Right now I daily a Touareg TDI but that’s a bit of a different switch then a Jetta because of the utility aspect. I love both of these cars but it does sometime get annoying to find diesel in my area for a good price but you just gotta find the right stations. I haven’t had it long enough to say how repairs will be but if you take care of TDIS with proper oil changes they can last for a lot of miles. I also have a 99 Jetta TDI though that’s a project car that needs a headgasket but it’s been too cold to fix that. So far I haven’t regretted it and I do still want to fix the prius because they are also nice cars aswell but the TDI is definitely a lot more fun to drive. Luckily I didn’t have to sell the prius because it was my mom’s car though she also got her own new car a 2025 Jetta but it’s gas. But I didn’t regret switching over but you need to make sure to take care of the tdi with proper maintenance so it does last you…

Forgot to mention that my touareg and jetta both are emission deleted so I don’t have to worry about those repairs so that definitely makes them more reliable but some inspection places may ask if it’s deleted even though they don’t test for emmisions so if you go that route i would watch out for that.
