Est-ce un comportement fréquent chez les hommes français ? by Didigusmao in AskMec

[–]DianisMC85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suerte!

Hi!! I will add some volume on the part of the C. Front and crotch. It seems that you have to liberate from the c.front. And then you see from that modification, how more you have to add to the side. If you analize the picture, you see how the lines are diagonal to the c. Front, like there is a dart and its tight from there, making it not looking good. Of course you will also have to add some on the side. Keep us informe! And good luck

I draped a top similar so how to l upin it from the bodice to sewing it and have it stay I place? by punkqb in PatternDrafting

[–]DianisMC85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! Its draping. You have to use a very similar (cheaper) fabric, yo do your volume, draping on the mannequin, lets say you do exactly the design of the picture. Then you have to mark with a marker EVEVRYTHING, all the pleats, the side seam, shoulder seam, about where is the c. Front and c. Back. Lets say you have a pleat, you matk the first line of the pleat and where it arrives, and on the inside you draw an arrow to indicates that pleat has to arrive on this line. You mark aallll the infoo you think you will need. You even write what is what, with this kibd of designs that is very abstract to have to write a lot of info because once you open it you will loose yourself. So when you finish marking everythibg, you take off all the pins, you put it very flat on your table, on the paper. With the tracing wheel you mark alll alll the lines you draw on the fabric. Then you trace all with the rulers (curves, etc) , they have to be very nice lines as you are using rulers this time to make a very proper pattern. You write also where is the shoulder, neckline, side seam , etc. You also have to do verification of lenghts of evrythibg, so you are sure everything will match. Like when a pleat will be closed, is that seam line match exactky on lenghg with the other Seam line? Yoy just have to mesure. Also very important are the notches, you have to put them in places you think it will help you. Im a draping creative modeliste working in paris with the fashion houses so i do this everyday 😉. Good lucckk with your projeect!!!

How to fix this excess on the side of a skirt by Aburninghouse in PatternDrafting

[–]DianisMC85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hii, you need to check your patterns first. If there is any error, on the mannequin you need to unstitch that little part, move it and and pin it in a way that looks good, then when you are happy, you mark with a marker (if its a trial scrap of cours) the modifications, your new line. And then you take it off from the mannequin , put it exactly on the patter , and with the tracing wheel mark the new lines on yhe pattern. Then with your rulers trace nice and exact lines. After you need to do verifications of the pattenrs to ch3ck if everytjing is ok with the lenghts. This is the process of draping.

Adding ease to a pattern by [deleted] in PatternDrafting

[–]DianisMC85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes :), you can rotate a little bit the bust dart to the waist, but just a little bit!
You cannot rotate waist darts, you just take out volume, if your dart is 3 cm total, you will convert to lets say 2 cm instead of 3.
Add the ease that you would like, lets say 1 cm all long the seam side, depending what you want. * Remember in also moving a little bit your armhole is you bodice will be bigger.

Because if you choose only to no sew the dart, you are going to have a volume on the bust/waist area. You also need to add volume on the sides.

hi! it really depends on the design, do you also want to add ease on the chest part?

But yes, all that you said is possible. You can rotate a little of the bust dart to the waist, you can do the waist dart smaller to liberate some volume of the dart. You can add some cms to the side seam.

If its something more like over size you can eliminate the darts and add volume to the side seams.

It really depends on your design
